I was extremely disappointed with my visit with MD Murphy. I was billed for a physical exam- and the vet never one placed her hands on my dog to assess his teeth, skin, auscultate his heart, or anything! She spend most of the visit pushing products on me instead of assessing my dog and listening to feedback about my dogs health. I had hope that Rau was a great place since in past you we’re able to save my dogs life- but I am beyond disappointed in the poor assessment given to my dog my Margaret Murphy. I would appreciate if there was a printed out paper with the cost of services and possible medications before officially agreeing to pay and before paying. A chance to see what I will be paying for, ask questions, and know what I will be paying. Some people might have to not get something because of the price, but it’s hard to say no or bring it up when the first time you hear the price is when the business person comes back for your payment. Other than uncertainty with what I was paying for, the service was AMAZING! I love ... read more
The Rau Animal Hospital team is Great! They are thorough, consienscous and kind. My reason for four stars and and not five, is I have at times felt pressure to do tests I cannot afford or do not fully understand the costs and Rau is expensive. We have six pets and the cost for basic care is very high.
I came by to pickup up a prescription for Apoquel for my dog Lincoln the other day. I was taken aback by the price and my wife felt the same when I told her what it was when I got home. After looking at receipts from the same script we had filled at PennVet in the past, and doing research online for what others charge, you are an average of $40 more. How do you justify this pricing? My wife and I are both very upset by this discovery.
Please do not roll your eyes when discussing our cat's symptoms and condition. I understand your frustration at diagnosing in the absence of extremely expensive tests for an older cat, but rolling of eyes at your associates does not mitigate the seriousness of our concern for a beloved family member. Very disappointed.
The wait was long but understandably with only 1 doctor in the office. Otherwise, fine!
Dr and Katherine were great! Sensitive and showed a level of concern that mirrored my own. I felt the course of care was appropriate and Dr advised of costs to perform blood work so that I could make an informed decision. I appreciated that! However, I wish the same had been disclosed when I made the appointment earlier that morning.. It wasn’t until after I looked at the itemized bill and saw a $72 Sunday fee!! It would have been nice had that been disclosed when the Sun appt was offered.. and it should have been reviewed a... read more
I love all the vets at Rau. I think they could improve the wait times sitting in the small rooms waiting for the vet. The cost for one visit is also very high. Senior citizens used to get a break on the price, but no longer.
The vet we saw, Brianne and the nurse Kathleen were very good. All the other techs and nurses involved in Hailey’s care were also great. Brianne must have accurately pieced together all of Hailey’s vague, but alarming symptoms, because she responded very quickly to the meds prescribed. As you can imagine, we are so relieved.
