We've been coming to Newport Harbor Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. We started bringing our furry babies when the hospital was in the building that is now Penelopes Parlor. Throughout the years, we've had excellent doctors take care of our dogs and we've also experienced doctors who have been less than friendly. We were deeply saddened when Dr. Wade retired since she had been the primary doctor for all our dogs. Dr. Corum, who is no longer there, was amazing as well. I brought my cat in to be watched for ten days. When I came to pick her up, she had a glob of gum attached to her leg (GUM!) and she had lost THREE of the eleven pounds of which she consisted. On top of that she has several notable marks from which I have no idea from where they came... I am doing everything I can to file a report against this disgusting, irresponsible company. Please take your animals anywhere else I assure you they will receive better treatment.
I must update my review immediately! This veterinary office (specifically Dr. Osborne) is absolutely amazing. Our dog came down with an extremely itchy skin condition and I was freaking out about what it could possibly be.. not only did the vet reassure me and give me all the answers I needed to ease myself and not panic, my dog left tail wagging in confidence. Thank you a million times for your time and patients and being extremely understanding and kind. My fur babies thank you too! Our new GO TO vet office.

Maybe Im just not the "type of client" this place caters to... Should've read the reviews before choosing to come here and maybe I wouldve figured that and saved myself some heartache. Sorry I dont have a thoroughbred showdog whose pups would fetch thousands of dollars - which is apparently the clientele the vet in particular that saw me, caters to. I believe you record your calls or at least that is what is stated, I believe when one calls-in. So, you can verify what I am about to say by simply reviewing the call. 1) Your receptionist left me on hold for 8 minutes after asking me if my call was an emergency & my stating "Yes." I have taken my dog to NHAH for 11 years and had terrific vet care from Dr. Cindy Wade who retired two years ago. I was therefore shocked and dismayed by the inadequate handling of an emergency when my dog ingested rat poison last week. The story: I was on my way of town for a medical emergency (my elderly mother was in the emergency room across the country) when my dog ingested rat poison put out by a friend on his patio. I highly recommend NHAH! From the moment I spoke with the receptionist over the phone until the actual visit was over we were treated so kindly by all staff. Our cat is very MEAN and they handled it so professionally, giving us the opportunity to sedate him and wait in the treatment room with dimmed lights until it took effect. The vet was very calm and kind and made us feel at ease in the midst of a very stressful situation. Great staff and amazing vet! I got so much information, and help with the team here. My dog is pregnant and the team here made sure to take all the right steps to ensure a safe delivery, and I am so grateful for them! They also took their time with the ultra sound pictures and gave me in depth answers to all my questions. Overall 10/100 experience!

Just wanted to post a shout out to Dr. Osbourne. What a kind and caring vet. She is a great listener and very knowledgeable . She takes time to talk to people about their their pets, she knows they are part of ones family . So happy to have her taking care of our sweet Lab. The one star missing is because mgt is still requiring their staff to wear the ridiculous masks that near everyone knows by now that there is no evidence at all that shows they are effective, in fact, they are detrimental to ones health.
