I recently made an appointment to board my dog for one night on July 4th. I received two confirmations. When I went to drop her off the facility was locked and the lady at the front desk told me they were closed and management told her I could not leave my dog. This caused an undo hardship. When management called me (at my request) I asked for one or two nights of boarding to compensate for the hardship. She was shocked and rude. She said the most she could do was a $20 credit. We recently had to do one of the hardest things a dog owner has to do: put our sweet dog down. He was 17 and he stopped eating and drinking, his body was giving out and he just wasn't there anymore. I really didn't want to put him down and just let him pass naturally but I read it's more humane to let them go and help them pass peacefully. Now I understand why so many people i know go to this vet. This place is amazing. Everyone is so nice and more importantly they really care and we're so great with my dog Otis. My regular vet was unexpectedly closed and I am so happy that I was able to get into see this vet. 10 stars!!!

This animal hospital has been around as long as I can remember. I tried switching to one that was cheaper and realized it was a disgusting mess. It was a complete revolving door and nobody really cared. I ended up coming to this veterinarian again, and though I got a senior discount, it was still a little more than I thought I could afford, but she recommended that I take my cat my beautiful Persian therapy cat over to another vet that dealt specifically with eye issues. it didn't work out over there after they took $389 for... read more

Updating my 2012 review. I can honestly say our pups' second family is the entire staff at Newport Harbor Animal Hospital. That's how much love we have for them. Dr. Ashbran has taken care of ALL of my dogs. When my first rescue pug was diagnosed with cancer, I was so heartbroken. I was shocked to find out Dr. Ashbran was too. He had told me how choked up he got when he saw the results. So many great things to say about this vet group. I've had Dr Robertson and Dr Wade- both have been really great. Every vet tech has been super sweet and had a great bedside manner with my puppy, George. We have been in 5-6x for a variety of issues and each time, they have spent time with me answering any questions and being very thorough. I just love Newport Harbor Animal Hospital! I have had only positive experiences. They take care of my 4 cats and they are very gentle, kind, and caring of my fur babies. I couldn't ask for a better Veterinarian help. Their prices are very reasonable and their front office staff are kind too. Can't recommend them enough.
