I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated by the experience we had with Hickory Veterinary Hospital . My cat Leo (beautiful 2-year-old Silver Bengal)was brought to them after he was hit by a car Friday afternoon, 02.21.25. Although I appreciated getting a quick specialist appointment, the pricing at this practice is neither communicated accurately nor transparent. The exam fee was higher than two staff members quoted. X-rays were quoted as $300, but I was charged almost $700. There was a $270 charge for radiology that no one mentioned. So, $950 for an X-ray. Very happy with this clinic!! My daughter and her husband were traveling from North Jersey to Philly with their 3 cats for me to babysit while they moved. On the way down one of them started breathing heavily and foaming at the mouth. They had essentially no idea where they were or where a good vet might be w emergency services. I just came home from a visit for my cat who seems to be constipated. I was most surprised when the office did not ask for any proof of rabies vaccination, which I had brought fully expecting that the cat wouldn't be see with out it. After a wait, we were seen by a doc who took a history and said an x-ray would be needed to see how backed up she was. We've had to take many our kitties to Hickory Vet, they have always been very compassionate and thorough with their care. Since we are a Shelter and a non-profit organization, we always have been treated very respectfully with all of our visits. They did an amazing job diagnosing one of our kittens with a liver shunt, maintained healthy pre- and post- surgical care for him, and he was later adopted to a wonderful family. Another success story is a "single kidney" kitten, diagnosis and follow up care for him has been amazing!... read more

After trying to get my dog into North Penn Animal Hospital.....no one was available to answer the phone until after 3:30 and this was an emergency. Was referred to another Vet and picked Hickory. They were absolutely amazing they were able to see my dog within 20 minutes everyone was so kind and understanding. The facility is so clean....I was so impressed that I moved my dogs records from North Penn. I am able to get appointments and not have to wait 7 weeks and someone answers the phone immediately....the are FABULOUS!!!!
