Get directionsThey were the worst vet I’d ever been too. Rude and very unprofessional!! All they were concerned about was the $$$. Would never recommend them!!! They wanted to do exploratory surgery on my dying dog and when I told the doctor NO that I was taking her to our regular vet, I was told by the doctor that she would have bled out during surgery anyway!!! No compassion for pets or pet owners!!!!
A mixed bag of tricks. I've been coming to this vet for emergencies for about 15 years and last year also made them my regular veterinary hospital. They range from excellent to the worst depending on what area you're focusing on. Starting with the pros: Dr. Eisenstein is one of the best veterinarians I've ever come into contact with. Her competence and medical knowledge are easily on par with veterinarians twice her age. She's been treating my dog, Raven, for kidney disease for the past 16 months since she was diagnose... read more
Horrible, rude, extremely unprofessional and completely disrespectful. The doctor assumed i couldn’t afford services even though I am employed and was too scared of a 110 lb dog to even go near him claiming that the dog weighed more than 4 people. This was a flat out bad experience. I’ve never ever been to a vet that is not comfortable with my dog and just scared of large breed dogs in general. The technicians and doctors do not even know how to approach large breeds. They give horrible body language and overall do not know ... read more
Don't bring your pet here. Unfortunately, it was an emergency and on a Sunday, and our vet was closed. Hickory has young and inexperienced vets, they are very expensive and unresponsive. My wife saw Dr. Amanda Steinagel, on 1/3/16, the day our 16 year old Jack Russel had been attacked by a Pit Bull. She prescribed an antibiotic and a sedative orally. Knowing our dog, my wife felt it would be difficult to administer the medications orally, and asked Dr Steinagel to prescribe in pill form. Amanda said she already mixed the ora... read more
I called with a question about my dog. The front desk staff was unhelpful and uninterested so I called another vet. Don't waste your time or money.
I would absolutely discourage anyone from bringing an animal to this place. I have had the pleasure of caring for many animals in my time, and never have I encountered a vet so much more concerned with their profit than for the wellbeing of their patients. Jessica Wilbourne, the late-night intern, resorted to scare tactics and refused to even clean my cat's giant, gaping wound without a hefty fee, despite the fact that he was already under sedation and shaved. My regular vet was flabbergasted, as are all of my animal-carin... read more
Never got an explanation from Dr. Brown or Dr. Epps as to why they charged for euthanizing Heidi when in actuality she had arrested a half hour before the phone call was ever made. Very troublesome still.....csm
Very very expensive. My lab got an infection in her uterus and had to have emergency surgery to remove it. Of course I didn't have $1500 for it in my pocket to hand to them, but I could make a payment every week until it was paid off. They suggested putting my lab down! She just turned 8 and had a lot of life in her so that wasn't a option. Needless to say after taking her home, I desperately searched for a vet to do the surgery. 2 days later they called and finally agreed to do the surgery and have me pay them every week. ... read more
