Get directionsI highly recommend Hickory Vet emergency hospital. We have had 2 unfortunate emergencies that we needed to bring our pup in for care. The staff does a great job at prioritizing walk-ins and we have never had to wait for hours to be seen unlike other hospitals. Everyone from the front staff to the Vets in the back are extremely friendly and caring.

We really love Dr. Bergman and her team. She has provided valuable input and recommendations to help our rescue dog transform into a happy and confident girl. They listen, pay attention to us and are always kind and helpful. They get 5 stars from us!

Hi, Deborah. Thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience. We truly appreciate it!
Do not take your dog here run. I've had the worst experience here. I spent over $5000 in bills. They had my dog so sedated, she didn't even recognize me. I went to visit her eve days. Every time I called, they said she was resting comfortably that couldn't be further from the truth. They stuck her in an oxygen tank. They told me not to see an internist. I was so uncomfortable there I left in the middle of the day and I took her to another 24 hour facility. She was treated so much better and with the respect the dog and I des... read more

We have been taking our 12 year old lab to Hickory since she was a pup. The staff and Dr Dobbins have always been professional and knowledgeable and provided Abbey with the care, attention snd recommendations that have helped her live a long and happy life. Highly recommended.
Business response:
Thank you for your wonderful five star review. We are so happy Abbey has been getting the care she requires and we are so fortunate to have Dr. S Dobbins here for many years, helping many pets have long and happy lives.
After I dished out $3,000 for a CT scan and chest x-ray for our dog, they wanted another $4,000 to root canal or remove his teeth. When asked for an itemized estimate of what the $4,000 would include they wouldn't provide it and got defensive that I asked. I got a second opinion and got the same procedure done for less than half. They just want your $$$$$.
Business response:
Mcampbell9393 D. We are sorry you feel this way but we believe we offered the best care for Rocky. He had the CT done and diagnosed with an oral mass that needed to be removed along with certain teeth that were damaged. Our specialist who ran this CT recommended you see the veterinary specialist dentist for this procedure. Veterinary specialty care unfortunately does cost more than at a general practice hospital. An itemize estimate was provided in our system and we are sorry if you never received it. Most of all we are gla... read more
I was referred to Hickory from my regular vet for a neurology consult due to my dog having neurologic episodes. When I called to schedule an appointment, the woman I spoke to over the phone was very very sweet, and was able to get us in the following day. I got there early for my appointment, and they took me back fairly quickly despite my being a half an hour early. We were greeted by the nicest group of people, they took great care of me and my dog. We saw Dr. William Kay, who really put my mind at ease. He concisely laid ... read more

I have used hickory vet when needed in the past for emergencies. I have been satisfied even though they are expensive!! I was kinda shocked the last time where we had to put my beloved dog down and cremation. It is 825.00 to do this btw which was an absolute surprise to me and my husband. We requested to have our dogs paw print and we found out they lost it or it was never done. Disappointed but what are we gonna do. I would suggest taking your dog somewhere else.
Business response:

My 9-year-old Cavalier Nelly needed emergency surgery. The entire experience was wonderful. From the front desk to the doctors and the phone calls morning and afternoon. Everyone was so attentive and concerned during this trying time. My little girl came home yesterday and is getting better. Thank you so very much!
Business response:
We are so happy to hear Nelly is feeling better. She is such a sweet girl. If you have any concerns don't hesitate to call.
Our golden retriever Skye was brought in for an emergency C-Section with Dr. Goodman last Saturday. The entire team at Hickory did an amazing job successfully delivering 12 puppies. They took excellent care of both mother and puppies and sent us home with everything we needed to ensure a very successful first week for the little ones. I can't thank you enough for the amazing job you did in an incredibly stressful situation.
Business response:
Thank you for the great review. We are so happy Skye and her puppies are doing well. We all were so excited to see 12 puppies. You have your hands full! Call if you have any questions or concerns.
