Finding the right hospital with the right doctors is not always an easy task. At Hickory, we realize the frustration many pet owners feel when choosing a veterinary hospital. So we decided to make it easy for our clients. We took a primary care veterinary hospital with dedicated general practitioners and added experienced specialists in surgery, oncology, cardiology, radiology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation and acupuncture. Then we went one step further and made the medical facility open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 7... read more

Get directionsNever again. WHAT happened to this facility??? They used to be good before Dr. Brown retired. Atrocious attitudes at the front desk (except for Ashley I think is her name - a doll), appointments are NEVER on time, incompetent staff, everyone is VERY disorganized, poor communication, rooms dirty, exorbitant pricing. Won't be back.
I tried to get my sick dog an appointment and was told no because I had a balance back in 2020? Why did I never get a bill for this in the mail?? Why would I pay for something when I don't even know what for? They said no money no appointment for sick dog. Unbelievably BAD service. My poor doggy. Find another VET is my opinion....
I would not recommend going here. I would suggest Metropolitan veterinarian hospital on Trooper. I went to Hickory years ago for a euthanasia and cremation and it went great. That's why I chose it again. This episode was horrific the administration. There is horrible people are rude, insensitive, and not helpful, I know it's a difficult time during a euthanasia and I'm considerate of that but when people hang up on the phone on you don't answer your questions and don't even offer. I'm sorry for your loss. It was a horrible e... read more
After Dr. Eisenstein left the care was steadily going downhill. Took my dog in for coughing and vet (Dr. Guth) came to the car and misdiagnosed him with kennel cough. An hour and a half later I was back and he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. And thank God it was a different vet! Calling to get him seen again had to go through a rude receptionist telling me after he had some meds in him he would feel better and if I came back it was now an emergency fee. Of course I paid because I wanted him seen and better. Afte... read more
Wrong place to come. I visited Hickory Vet on the weekend as an emergency with my cat who was in a great deal of pain d/t what turned out to be a tail injury. The doctor who attended to my cat was not competent enough to determine the issue. He admitted that he did not know what was wrong with her and ordered to do the blood work and the urine test causing the cat more pain. Despite the fact of me telling him that the cat did not throw up even once, he also administered to her an anti emetic medication. To every question I a... read more
If I could leave a 0, I would. This was literally the worst service or lack there of that I've ever received. I got to my dogs 11am appointment early because I do not live local. We check in, 10 mins go by and other dogs are getting called back. I figured it because we got there early. Well 45 mins after her scheduled appointment time. Other dogs with later appointments are being called back. I go to the desk to see what's going on and the kid pages overhead that my dog is checked in as if I just got there. 15 more minutes g... read more
GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! DO NOT GO HERE! This place has 2 stars for a reason!! This place sent a cat home COVERED in their own urine and vomit AND didn't send them home with the right meds. My sister took her 2yr old cat to this emergency center for a bladder obstruction (severe case) and although we got in quickly, there were some red flags. 1) The nurse couldn't find the cats heartbeat and recorded it as "purr"... for a check-up I think that could be fine? But for an emergency, I would think getting an actual heart rate from the... read more
I am appreciative of the emergency care they provided my cat. But I am thoroughly disappointed and disgusted in their last of respect towards animals. My cat was returned to me, after spending three nights with them, completely soiled in his own urine and dried vomit still in his tail from the first night I brought him in. It's very clear that they do not prioritize maintaining dignity in their patients. Grateful my boy was stabilized, but heartbroken to have realized he was laying in his own urine for days. Unless it is lif... read more
Wow- What has happened to Hickory Vet and Hospital? I have been taking my dogs for 20 years to this reputable business. When the Brown family ran the business this was a friendly and welcoming place. Not any more. The staff is unfriendly and rude. I was told if unhappy with the way I was treated and serviced, " then go somewhere else". Good advice!
