Get directionsI have taken my dogs and cats to Columbia Pike Animal hospital for over 20 years...vets included Davis Hall. The founder; Reid Hall, Candice Flynn and Dr Kirchart. In all cases the advice and care have been exceptional. Yes, when you have a animal that needs special treatment, it is not inexpensive. But their prices are not any different than other vets. At least now you can decide if you will pay for pet insurance or thru installments. If I have any difficulty, it is that they can be very busy, and you can remain on hold f... read more
I can't recommend this place. They have a serious shortage of vets. I was there for 5 hours. In fairness they told me they are a triage hospital and take the most serious pet situations first which I understand. However, 5 hours is ridiculous and there were people there waiting even longer than me. I was told I could leave with my pet and would get an email with her results in two hours which never occurred. I called at 6am in the morning and was on hold for 10 minutes before I got to a doctor. I called back at 230 to inquir... read more
My, how things have drastically changed here. Have been a client for 2 dogs and 11 puppies over a 20 year time span. What used to be a friendly, efficient place is now a factory. My "appt" in Aug took over 4 hours and it was to obtain one vaccine needed to board my dog (at a new facility since Columbia no longer has any boarding services) The long wait was attributed to coming out of Covid. ? Today, I had to be late for my 1:00 appt, so I called. I apologized and asked if I should reschedule. I was told that because I was o... read more
Let's start with customer service. First, the take staff could not careless why your are there and trusting this business with your four-legged family member. The are brash, and pay zero attention -- for the and the business it seems to be a numbers in, numbers out, and pay your bill now! Second, paying the bill. It was a 20 minute wait after arriving, and it literally took about 8 minutes for two shots and a nail trim. AND THEN ANOTHER 20 MINUTES WAITING TO PAY THE BILL!! WHY???? Moving forward, I will drive for better... read more
I have been coming to you guys since 2013 or 2012 and this is the first time I felt completely awful I made a decision to bring my dog for examination. The service I was provided by Laura Fink was terrible. I specifically asked for Dr. Jones or Tango, and I got Laura fink who didn't even ask anything of the symptoms my dog was having and just told me my dog looks ok??? Really? And over the phone? Other doctors were coming out and talking to their patients in the lobby and she just called me and told me that my dog my need bl... read more
I felt like I didn't need to pay nearly as much as I did because my cat was misdiagnosed as healthy two days before her condition got worse. I get it, bacterial infections can be hard to see sometimes, but the solution should never be throwing pain killers at a pet owner who's experienced something like this in the past with the same pet. The fact that I had to go back 2 days later and was charged for a procedure that was 100% avoidable if she was treated when I originally brought her in is outrageous. As a pet owner, I was ... read more
I had an odd experience here. The front desk staff were kind, welcoming, friendly. There was minimal communication from the vet tech who took my dog into the back during her urgent care visit. I attempted to provide a history in the reason for her visit, and was not aware that my brief interaction with the tech would be my only chance to provide information. Dr. Shaughnessy reviewed discharge information with me but was curt and stared at me with a deadpan expression when I asked why my dog was being prescribed a specific me... read more
took my dog in since he's been vomiting all day, went @9pm, didn't even get a call that he was ready to be seen until 1am.... i had taken him to another vet by the time they even called to say he's next in line. WHEN THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE LOBBY!!!! had him checked out by another vet in DC! very expensive, but worth it!
We have been coming to this hospital for decades. And with our beloved Clover they misdiagnosed and missed the mass in his lower stomach area and pinched nerve in his neck, he was crying in pain and pretty old. We had to medically euthanize him and I am still saddened by his passing. After today we'll no longer be apart of this hospital.
