They have no feelings for animals only the bottom line. When asked to give my dog an IV they stated it would be $1000. They did absolutely nothing even though I agreed to move heaven and earth for my dog. They claim to have paid for services on my behalf when it should have been part of an initial exam. They wanted to kill my dog because I couldn't cover the upfront cost immediately. They are a butcher shop.

Business response:

Our hearts go out to you and your Family. Sadly, Koji was very ill when you brought him to us. We fully understand that your grief may be driving your review, and you may not recall that we did provide some care free-of-charge, and that our staff reviewed the multiple payment options before you arrived at our facility. Sadly, Koji needed advanced treatment due to how critical he was. If it would be helpful to talk further, we hope you will reach out to Janine, our Practice Manager, at Janine@animalERcare.com or 719-640-0441.

Me and my boyfriend brought his puppy here after he got into rat poison and a tub of cocoa powder. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were quick to get him back to the room to begin treatment. They were also very honest with his well being and pricing. They have awesome payment options and truly care about the animals. The tech even sent us some pictures of our baby in the ICU (we had to leave him overnight). The vet was very knowledgeable and made the treatment options easy to understand and was very compassionate. I ... read more

They charge approximately double. We came in to pick up our dog, they said they were too busy, come back later, then charged us 380.00 for the time we were gone! Their estimate was misleading. Come to find out, the clinic and surgical departments bill separately. They duplicated some of the charges. They seem to be competent medically, but for what they charge they better be!

Business response:

Dear Debra, We appreciate your feedback on how we could provide better clarity when multiple practices are involved in the care of a patient. With the criticality of your fur baby's condition, we recommended and referred you to the board-certified surgeon within our building. As with specialized human medicine, we have several individual practices within the same facility to offer the highest level of care. We appreciate how this could be confusing and are really open to your feedback on how we could have better explained t... read more

I could write a four page explanation of what we went through with our little puppy Baxter but it's long and would really tell the story of what happens at the ER. Short version, we brought little Baxter in for belly bloat (overeating) thought it would be simple and they would give him a little something to help him vomit and he would be good. They did that helped him he some food out of his tummy and let him rest at the Er for a couple hours. Simple you would think? Nope, he vomits we leave him he's doing good, wagging his ... read more

We used this animal emergency room last night. I have never experienced such compassion and care from a vet's office--especially from a 24 hour vet. Thank you so much for your help with our emergency, and thank you so much for your kindness.

It seems strange to give five stars to a veterinary clinic when my dog died. Sassy first went in with a painful abdomen, I actually thought the problem was orthopedic. The conservative diagnosis was inflammation, it was treated and Sassy recovered for a couple of days. She had a relapse, they ran additional tests and an ultrasound. Masses on her spleen were probably cancer. They performed a splenectomy, warning me that even though no other masses presented on the ultrasound, they might find them elsewhere. They did not. They... read more

I showed up here at 4am one day last week after my 20-year-old cat lost the use of her hind legs suddenly. I had to have her euthanized, and they could not have been more compassionate. I also expected to be charged more than I was, considering it was an emergency. I would not hesitate to recommend them, or to use this office if I ever have another pet.

We had to take our 16 year old cat in for an ultrasound. They were very kind to us. Even though we were tired and stressed out, they remained calm and cool. We ended up having to put our baby to sleep and they were so wonderful. The doctor (Dr. O) was amazing. She was a calming soul to have with us as we said goodbye. We would go there again if another emergency arose.

What happened to me happened three years ago. I was so devastated that I didn't want to write about it, but realized I had to so people know what to expect fro this place. One Saturday, my 9 YO pitty stumbled and seemed to be wheezing for a second, but he quickly recovered. My wife and I freaked out and brought him here, during which time he seemed fine. After 2 hours of waiting, we were told that they wanted to do X-rays on his chest, lungs, and stomach to determine the cause of the stumbling. We said that's fine, and afte... read more

Thank you for stating up-front that your experience was three years ago; the practice changed ownership in October 2016. We hope you don't need an ER anytime soon, but if one of your pets is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, if you give this location another change, we believe you will find it to be a very different experience.
