Get directionsI can't say enough great things about this place! Dr. Julie Hesse... THANK YOU for all you do and for taking such great care of Oliver for the night. Even with a broken heart you and your staff helped make the transition bearable.
An excellent animal ER. We took our cat in on a Sunday, and they took great care of her. I am especially impressed at the high level of communication and compassion of the staff. Gil especially is very good with cats and keeping us informed what was going on and what to expect next. Much appreciated. They're also very mindful of COVID-19 precautions at this site, which is great to see.
Business response:

I would like to say "Thank you so very much" to Dr. Price, Dr. Doyle, Dr. Cordelli, and the entire staff of Animal ER, as well as Dr. Miles and the entire staff of Southern Colorado Internal Medicine for taking care of my 19-year-old cat Monster and me too. Monster had been on chemo for over 4 years for small cell intestinal lymphoma. We just moved to Colorado Springs from San Diego, which was a long trip for Monster as well. After being here for a couple of weeks, Monster got so sick he couldn't even walk at times to his fo... read more

Okay, so on Christmas Eve our little puppy Daisy was not feeling too well. So we found this hospital on Yelp with good ratings! We decided to go there. As we went we needed to park and scan to register our puppy. We did so, and waited. And waited... and waited. We went in at about 945am and was not scene till 3pm. Yeah 5 hours of waiting was not the business. We knew they had to go in order of priority and yet they were short staff. They didn't have a second doctor just one. Which was odd. Anyways, I'm not trying to bash the... read more
:( me and my dog were waiting for more than an hour and the tech ended up telling me to wait to get some help because my dog was way too scared with the tech who came out to check vital signs for my dog... I waited and waited ... watching other dogs were being checked.... I had to tell them I would just leave since I was waiting too long- no apologies, nothing:( basically "bye" I would not go back- the tech was not very friendly from my experience-
Business response:
We do appreciate your candid feedback; our caseload has drastically increased over the past few months. We will, of course, continue to see patients in order of criticality, and those with life-threatening situations must take priority before our more stable patients. We are thankful we have been able to remain available through this Covid season, but it has not been without challenges.
The care is always great- though pricey. But we do what we have to for our furbabies. The wait- so long.... was told it would be 2 hours.... 4 hours later still waiting. Others came and went while I waited. Finally came to get her, vet called, needed to do tests. Half hour she said.... 90 minutes later finally a call back. Then it took another 1/2 hour to out process. All in all 6 hours. I so appreciate the care... just not the wait. Can't help but think we got forgotten. Or they were seriously understaffed.
Business response:
Thank you for sharing your experience; we were glad we could be there for you and your furbaby. I does sound like we missed the mark on updating you about the change in your wait time when a life-critical patient arrived shortly after your arrival; we appreciate this feedback. We did have two clients elect not to wait (able to monitor at home) due to the extended wait time; this is likely what you observed as coming & going. Again, thank you for entrusting us with the care of your sweet Lily.
My husband took our dog there this long weekend on Sunday as his suture site from mast cell tumor had completely opened up. He waited for a couple of hours and a vet tech gave him some guaze with cleaner on it. Told him to keep it clean and see vet on Tuesday. Today, My Grand champion show dog is now in surgery for emergency closure and antibiotics.
Business response:
It's our understanding that our triage nurse shared the estimated wait time for all non-critical emergencies that day (5 - 6 hours), extended due to the high influx of life-threatening cases. Based on that information, it is our understanding that your husband chose to leave instead of continuing to wait in our triage line. We strive to set accurate wait-time expectations for every client and are understanding when a client elects not to wait. Our triage technician provided what guidance she could when your husband shared h... read more
Staff communicates well, seems very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. From the first communication to release of my dog I felt confident that he was in good hands and received excellent care. I was visiting from out of town and was lucky to find Animal ER Care. Due to covid the wait was a little long but to be expected considering everything going on with new protocols for intake and the examination. Highly recommend.
Business response:
Thank you for your strong endorsement, we are happy we could be there for you and your fur baby during your time of need. Your understanding and kind words during this challenging time is appreciated! We wish you safe travels home.
I wasn't even going to complain too much until I received the $54.22 bill for not seeing my puppy. But, after the interesting conversation I already had with the facility, I feel that it's my duty to let the public know before I contact my attorney. We arrived on Friday evening at 11pm with a sick pup (didn't eat dinner and started vomiting at 10pm followed by diarrhea). Having a puppy with parvo many years ago that spent 2 weeks in ICU, we don't take chances with those symptoms. They came out an hour after we arrived to do ... read more
