Our dog suffered what appeared to be a major stroke Sunday evening. When we arrived at Animal ER Care , we were quickly placed in an examination room where we waited for 2 hours with no contact from the staff. I eventually had to find someone to check on our dog, and that took 30 minutes for a tech to come in the room to take her vitals. After more time passed she was taken in the back for "observation". Our 3 year old Golden Retriever recently suffered from xylitol poisoning. The staff here was amazing. They treated our pup and us with great compassion and provided outstanding care. My hope is that nobody ever needs emergency care for their pet, but if they do, this is the place to go. We have had to use an emergency vet before with another pet and had gone to another ER because we didn't know about this one and had a terrible experience. 100% recommend. I was traveling back in from a very long drive with my injured fur kid. We had been to another ER out of state during travels but even with pain medicine, he was struggling and started displaying concerning symptoms so I immediately called Animal ER Care since we would be arriving back in town later that afternoon. Last Friday we made the difficult decision to put down our dog. We found out about a month ago that she had lymphoma, so we knew that our time with her was limited. She had been doing pretty good for a few weeks but last week she deteriorated quickly. When I got home from work on Friday, she had reached "that point" and we knew we needed to get her in quickly. I was very impressed by this place. It was a Saturday and my cat was sick and I wasn't sure what to do. A staff member at Happy Cats Haven (where I volunteer) highly recommended Animal ER Care to me- I'm really glad they did. I've never been to an animal ER before and it was a little stressful and overwhelming but the communication and explanation from the staff was very good. Waited over 5 hours and kept getting bumped down the list, I get it because I, in no way, would ever deny that someone's furbaby is not critical, but we still had a case to the point where our vet told us to go here. The first day I was here I was going to write a more negative review due to the fact i had to wait in the car with my sick dog from 10am-5pm and was very frustrated. But, now I have nothing but good things to say. My dog had to be in the ICU for two days and they took great care of her and i was allowed to go in and see her. The techs and vets always stopped to answer my questions and concerns and the front desk never got annoyed with me checking in so frequently and have any questions about the bills.
