WECare is a great place to take your pet to in the event of an erergency, but be prepared to wait. I had to take Chewie here on a sudden, emergency visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful - particulary the techs and the vet. Despite the obviously negative situation, the experience was as good as it could be despite a lengthy wait (and a pricy tag). I would recommend WECare but I would also recommend having pet insurance!
The staff is nice. They gave good advice and alternative options. The bad part is they don't have enough staff and busy. Therefore the wait is very long 2 hours plus at minimum. Its also very pricey so have you money in order. Some tips are bring a drink, snacks, charger and entertainment. Also have nothing else's to do for the rest of the day. Basically treat it as an emergency room for humans.
Our family had a bad experience here. All I can say is that this place cares more about earning a few thousand dollars than they do about your pet and you. Our cat had a terminal illness with tumors in his over extended twice the size belly. Only a cat scan showed it. But they didn't say that to us and it wasn't performed there. We were sent home with a 10 day supply of antibiotics. Our cat suffered for 2 more weeks before we took him to a different vet. If this is near u, consider Taking the drive and going elsewhere. My dog was having a hard labor . For 4 hrs , her 2nd puppy wouldn't come out . I called WEC and the dr suggested I wait 6 hrs to bring my dog in. At 6 hrs, I called the vet and told them I was bringing my dog in and I asked them what I should bring with me. I get there 15 min later, fill out paper work, and wait 20 min in the waiting room . When a scared mom calls because our dog ate chocolate and the kids are scared and hysterical-their response was a phone number for a toxic care hotline that is $100 to ask them a question. I asked the very bored and very non-caring female that I spoke to, if she was serious that they could not answer a simple question over the phone and that I had to call a totally different number and be charged $100 to ask said question and she said "yup" in a very clipped and hurried manner. These people are incompetent and not the least bit compassionate about animals. I took my Hank in because he appeared lethargic and suspected dehydration, as he was not drinking. After the Vet did an exam and x-rays and bloodwork, I was told that he had an enlarged heart and would need to go see a cardiologist right away. I took him to see the cardiologist the next morning and the size of his heart was completely normal, and the function was completely fine. My dog was taken there on 12/15/25 and discharged on 12/17/25. We were told she had lepto. On 12/21/25 she stopped eating again. Took her to a different 24/7 hospital to learn it was her gallbladder and major surgery to remove it was needed. Unfortunately after wasting over $3k at this facility, we couldn't afford the surgery she needed and had to euthanize her. She was so sick the vet gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving. SAVE YOUR PET! STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY!!!!
This is the southern Maryland hospital for dogs , took my pet yesterday for a fall, waited 2.5 hours . $798 later , X-rays showed no broken bones, but yeah your pet is constipated, she needs an enema $40, worst mistake of my life , my dog has been bleeding every sense !!! What the hell !! Never again ... had to bring her to my regular vet ! Should have waited !!! $$$ another bill . They will be hearing from me ! Skip this place !!!
