Unfortunately I had to bring my dog in for emergency care and ultimately had to make the difficult decision to put her down. The staff was wonderful and were compassionate and understanding.
We took our dog to TruVet for emergency care yesterday. Everyone from the receptionists to the techs to the vet was responsive and compassionate. Communication with us was timely and excellent. Unfortunately tests came back with the finding that her stomach and lungs were full of cancer and we made the decision to put her down at TruVet. They made this very difficult decision as bearable as it could be under the circumstances. We are very grateful for the outstanding quality of care provided to our little girl Elsa.
A few weeks ago, we brought our dog to TruVet due to a sudden onset of concerning symptoms, as advised by our regular vet who couldn't see him soon enough. He was there for 2 nights, during which he underwent emergency surgery which showed that his body was shutting down and would not make it through the night, so we made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye and put him out of his misery. While the outcome of our visit was tragic, I wanted to take a moment to review TruVet as there was so much that they handled exceptio... read more
I'm so happy TruVet came to Petaluma. They have a really great system to get pets seen. Vets are in high demand and you do have to wait but they see every pet- they are honest about waiting times, costs and always feel like they are honest in their assessments- can you wait for your regular vet appointment or is it a true emergency etc Super helpful staff and they want the best for the pets they see. So nice to have a 24 hour solution!

I recently had to rush my sweet kitty " Jelly " ( Angelica ) to tru vet where she'd been seen before - she was is distress, not eating , dehydrated, in kidney failure - I feared the worst and Dr K conf they couldn't save her :(. I made the decision to let her go and they were incredibly kind, compassionate & shed tears with me as she was passing. it's been 3 weeks since I lost her and still waiting for her ashes so I can start the healing process :(. If anyone at TruVet reads this - I'm wrecked and desperately patiently w... read more
Yesterday our Australian Shepherd, Cody was not feeling well. We started looking for a new veterinarian to take our dog to. We were unhappy with the veterinarian we had seen in the past. The first Veterinarian we called didn't have any appointments available but the referred us to TruVet. We called and they told us to bring him in.The receptionist was very understanding and compassionate. They said it would take an hour to do a full exam to find what was wrong and we could wait or leave him and go home and they would keep u... read more

Hi Dan- Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review. We are so glad we were able to be there for you.
Five stars is too little. Our vet, Dr Cantrell has been treating our bullmastiff Hank Williams from the first day he came home from the breeder. When Hank had problems getting up, she said to go to TruVet's Specialty and Emergency care and get x-rays. Then when the situation worsened she said "take him to TruVet. They have all the special equipment that I don't have. And they can provide care. You can trust them." She was spot on. TruVet has caring, competent people from the intake folks, to the front desk folks, to ... read more

Hi Michael- Thank you very much for taking a moment to leave such a wonderful review. We appreciate you!
It is so hard to see an emergency vet since the pandemic started, but TruVet was available when I needed them. My dog chewed up a bathtub stopper and started vomiting and they got him in right away. Luckily, he didn't need surgery, but they kept him overnight with fluids and rechecked his x-rays in the morning to be sure everything had passed. FYI they also have specialty services for internal medicine and surgery.

TruVet saved my 11 year old Maltipoo He is diabetic and became very ill I brought him in to TruVet they took him right in. They told me he was very ill and would do what they could. It was a long stressful week but they got him regulated and he was able to leave. A few months later he is still doing great and gaining weight. Thank you to all the Drs and staff.
