Where experience matters. Family Owned and Operated. Santa Monica Pet Medical Center has been serving the Westside since 1961. Our doctors and senior staff have been with us, on average, for over 15 years. That's experience and dedication that you're not going to find at any other hospital. We only schedule 30 minute appointments so that you and your doctor can have a complete, un-rushed conversation about your pet's health. We are family owned and operated. That means that we make our own decisions about what treatment plan... read more

We were so grateful to get a walk-in appointment on the day our sheepdog was attacked by a pit bull. Our regular vet was too busy to see us. We were treated respectfully and the vet who saw us was so kind and professional. They found several bites on my dog but they said we were best to let them heal without stitches. We came in concerned we might need stitches so that was a relief. They gave us antibiotics and pain killers and recommended we keep the cone on our dog to keep him from licking the bites. We are so grateful for... read more
When I moved to west LA. I was looking for a great veterinarian for my dog Gracie. She is the love of my life. They are very kind and really care about her well being. She had to be boarded last month because I was in the hospital for a week. They gave her a lot of attention. Today she got her the teeth deep cleaned. It was a little pricey but they did a great job. Through the day they would keep her company and when I picked her up she was a little out of it
I would rate Santa Monica Pet Medical Center with 20 stars if I could! Getting a dog for the first time was a beautiful experience of love and learning tough lessons on the fly all wrapped up into one. Our Puppy, Max, got Kennell Cough very early on and we had to take him to Overland Veterinary Clinic for an emergency visit. Geographically, it made sense, but it was the most sterile and slightly terrifying experience given how little I knew about puppies and the effects of that condition. No one went out of their way to... read more
Dr Adams is amazing, very kind and patient, he took care of my best friend all the way to the end, I highly recommend him and his staff
Would love to give more stars but the wait time is ridiculous. Had a 12pm appt with a technician to give my dog a shot. They didn't get to me until 12:45. This should have been an in/out appt. They have 5 people behind the desk....maybe they should hire more technicians.
Absolutely amazing staff, each who truly care about your pet. I can't recommend them enough. They go above and beyond. Extremely kind and professional.
I am a senior. Like many seniors, I am low-income. My cat means a lot to me, but I have to control my hysteria when my cat has symptoms which could be serious. Dr. Bijlani understood that and she helped me weigh the options of various diagnoses and tests. I didn't feel taken advantage of as I have at vet locations. This will be the place of my veterinary care for life and I seriously, seriously recommend them.
This review is for Dr. Hernandez. Our fur baby was diagnosed with bladder stones a little over a year ago. We decided to hold off on surgery and try to treat his condition with a special diet. Every visit with Dr. Hernandez was great, you can tell she truly cares about your pet. She took her time to explain his condition, test results and treatment. She never pushed us to get surgery and always respected our decisions. She always calls and checks up on Brodie & if she can't get ahold of me she would leave detailed voicemails... read more
Our cat, Zaz (somewhere around 23) is sometimes a bit fragile and had gotten a little wobbly. Just when we thought we'd have to lose him, Dr. Takahashi opined that 'he had a few more miles on him yet' and prescribed both amoxicillin and hydration. Worked! Two weeks later it's as though Zaz was never wobbly and certainly no longer looked dehydrated. Now he's back to playing. They're very good at diagnosing at the clinic!
