I brought my pup in for a cyto-point injection 7/2 $75. 9/10 $111. - yesterday and to my SURPRISE at check out I was informed that Kristin (owner) and Sharon (office manager) increased prices 50% in 2 months time. I have a suggestion for you both treat the clientele with respect and inform them before the injection is given. In my eyes this is price gouging and definitely is not acceptable to me - I am amazed at your greediness. My suggestion to everyone get prices before you proceed. I have been taking my dog here for over 5 years. They get two stars because I had great Vet's. Those Vet's are now gone. On my last visit in June, I went to pay my bill, as always, and they said I had an outstanding balance. I said that couldn't be because I always pay my bill (as outrageous as they are). I asked for an invoice of what I did not pay. She said she would be right back. 15 minutes or so later, she did not return. Four stars - Great doctors without question. One star - Terrible and inefficient administrative staff. Closed during the middle of the day (for lunch I suspect) and an erroneous voicemail greeting that indicates the office is closed if you call then, with no indication of hours. People that have their pets tended to by their veterinarians are, in fact, customers and this is totally lost on the administrative staff who cannot seem to get it right (whether it's appointments, medications, or returning phone calls) time and ti... read more

After trying SMPMC for a year, we had to move on. Very poor communication and we could never get in to see a doctor. Firstly, our first visit was an emergency situation. Our 7 month old puppy was experiencing Bloat symptoms, something I have experienced before in prior dogs. This is an emergency surgery situation and is time sensitive - regretfully, it can cause death within hours. This is an update to my last review. PLEASE IGNORE MY PREVIOUS 5 Star review. That Vet left the practice before my follow up appointment, as most of the good vets do. Funny how my OLD 5 STAR review pops up as the first review on YELP??? I note most current reviews are ONE STAR‼ I have come here since 1998 for all of my cats and dogs. The care is quite variable. I have brought my cats here for many years--probably two decades--and except for a few bad visits when Dr. George was not available, it's been mostly a series of good experiences. However, I've been increasingly turned off by the staff who answers the phone and the long holds and annoying sales pitches that accompany them. Regretful service. Lack of communication between staff members and overall veterinarian experience. APRIL 9th I booked an appointment at SMpetmedical because my pet lab was unusually lethargic. Met with Dr. Bijlani who after assessing my pet recommended an immediate X-ray as it could possibly be Pyometra. (Uterus infection). I genuinely would not like to see this happen to anyone else. In a nutshell our dog was prepped for a surgery that never took place. This included an IV and the insertion of a catheter. We brought our Chihuahua in who woke up one morning with a swollen snoat and were told he needed surgery as soon as possible to extract two abscessesed teeth.
