For those reading, American Express refunded the fees I paid to this vet after looking into things. Unfortunately, the vets actions and negligence have had long term effects on my dog. AVOID this place like the plague.

Unlikely to ever return. Despite being quoted an astronomical amount for a neutering for our dog earlier this year (which we declined), we came only because they were open so early in the morning and our lab needed to be treated for an ear infection. The vet came in to our room and, without even examining our dog, started to tell us how the root of his ear infection could be allergies. The worst experience Addopted a new puppy and brought him in for a round of shots which ended up costing me $240 for my 'first puppy visit'. At the appt I was told to bring back a stool sample as part of the puppy check. I drove out of my way with the sample and when I arrived, they told me to pay another $75 - even though the vet directly told me this was included. WOW! The overall rating looks so good 4 stars and 204 reviews; But recent reviews have similar issues and complaints and expose the disaster this place has become. I have loved this clinic for over 30 years but what is here now is NOTHING like was once was here. I agree Be very cautious. This is not a complaint about the vet, it's about the front desk staff. First I got a call about a stool sample for another dog. Then when there for my cat, the vet tech who was sweet, appeared dazed and couldn't give me straight answers about the timing of my cats shots. Today I requested my dog's medical records and the attitude of the girl I spoke with - she does not belong in a position like that. I felt something off after that first call but there is NO WAY these people are treating my animals ever again.

The quality of the care in the exam room is good, but it breaks down when they dispense the wrong medication and then treat you like you've done something wrong. This has happened twice. The first time I was given half of the antibiotics I should have gotten, and the infection returned. Today I tried to return the wrong dosage of Nexgard, and because I used the one taped on top without realizing, then when I opened the box and recognized that they were too small and gave my dog two pills because I didn't have time to go in r... read more

I have been to a variety of vets in my several decades of dog and cat ownership, and having worked in rescue, and I have never been treated as rudely by front desk staff as I have at Pet Med. It's so over-the-top it's absurd. In particular there is one woman, Robin, who literally will see you one week, and when you walk in the next week she says, "And you are?" I had a similar situation to Jenni S.'s review quote: "I received the most disgusting, shocking letter from the SM Pet Medical Center that they were terminating us as a client (?!) We have been loyal customers for 10 years and have spent a fortune trying to handle a difficult situation and instead of working with us, they placed judgment on us, ignored us and openly blamed us for their own terrible communication, lackluster customer service and overall negligence. We have been coming here for 3 years, but I think we have had our last visit. The prices here are INSANE. We have spent over $40,000 (not here) in emergency surgeries, chemotherapy, you name it, for our dogs, so this review is not from someone who even thinks about money when it comes to our dogs well being, but for routine visits, I find this place insulting.
