incompetent staff and management - They gave me a receipt with the wrong vaccine dates after going there to get my dog's vaccines up to date to board him. When I got to the place the day to board him we noticed the dates on the receipt were not updated to reflect that my dog had gotten the shots a few weeks earlier. We had to call and verify he had the shots. I can't speak to how they are for dogs and cats, but I wouldn't recommend bringing your turtle here. I brought my turtle in for a visit and our appointment was at 9 AM. The reason for the visit was because my turtle was not interested in food. After bringing him back and weighing him and putting him in a tiny water bath, we waited to see the vet for about 30 minutes. Went in because my kitten had what I thought to be pink eye, the vet tech was rude and condescending until the actual vet came in, she then completely changed her tune. They charged me 75 for "exam" for each of my 2 cats, the only way they examined them was looking into the sick kittens eye for a couple minutes. They gave me an ointment to put in her eye that hasn't been working and has actually made it worse! MY DOG DIED IN THEIR CARE! My dog went in to have her leg removed and she died. She made it through the surgery and anesthesia according to them and they left her overnight with out proper care to die alone in a cage. They were negligent and failed to provide adequate care for a post surgical operation. My dog would be alive right now had I not walked her through those doors. I called for my hen, Henrietta, to be seen for what I thought might have had an egg stuck in her, what's called "egg bound". I was informed immediately, that they would need to do $210 x-rays to confirm the egg was there. I asked what the treatment was after the X-rays and was informed that they would "observe" her. I pressed whomever picked up the phone further, stating that I could observe her at my house. I am extremely disappointed with how my cat's follow up appointment was handled. Not only did her symptoms not improve, but an ear infection was missed completely. But what I'm really upset about are the haunting shrills she made in the back getting blood drawn -- OR NOT -- because my 17 year old cat put up such a fight that it couldn't be done & we would have to come back. My girl has been going here for the past 15 years. In the most recent years, my interaction with the staff and doctor Gonzales has been horrible. The only saving grace is Sherry who works in the back with the animals. My girl and me both love her! Recently, we had to go for my girls annual physical, what a nightmare. I understand emergencies happen but no one called to reschedule. We waited in the parking lot for almost 45 minutes. Dropped my dog off for a needed bordetella shot and boarding. When picking up the dog I was informed the shot had not yet been given after 6 days of boarding. The vet/boarder did not follow their own protocol and put my dog and others at risk. Never returning to Lakeside Animal Hospital and strongly recommend avoiding this facility.

Incompetence at every step of the way. I had an appointment for a Saturday. After waiting for nearly an hour, I was finally put into a room. The vet tech/assistant came in and gave me advice for my reptile that was contrary to every single other source I had ever consulted with, including other vets. She even recommended I feed my pet (western hognose snake) food that was about 2 or 3 times the size of my pet, lol. I waited another 30-40 minutes and never saw the vet.
