Never in my life have I left a negative review for anything, but I don't feel right not letting other people know what happened here. If you have a rabbit, especially in an emergency, DO NOT bring them here. I do appreciate that they saw my rabbit as a walk-in emergency, but I was given an estimate for treatment before the vet even came in to examine him. I have been using this place for years, and always wondered why people posted so many negative reviews, now I understand why. I called on Tuesday for a an appointment today, and made a note of the date and time on my calendar. I was early like I normally am, but they "had no record of his appointment. They are literally treating him like a walk-in patient (I literally just overheard one of the staff say that) and we have now been here over an hour and a half. I too am confused at how many bad reviews there are for this vet. I took my dog here last week for a checkup and for vaccinations. The staff was open and friendly with me and my kids. They weren't pushy and I never once felt judged or looked down on for not wanting any extra services they offered like I have at other places in the past. I took my dog Teddy to Lakeside Animal Hospital when he was sick. It just so happened that we were new to the Richmond area and he did not have a vet. Dr. Gonzales said that she would run some tests, sell me medication to help him get better, and get me the results of the tests immediately. The tests were run and I was willing to do anything to make my fur baby better. If you love your pet, do NOT go to Dr. Gonzalez. She's just not good at her job.. she's incredibly unprofessional and very rude. Don't just take my word for it.. look up other reviews (more like horror stories) and you will see that I am not just one customer who had a bad experience..
I had taken my one-year old sick rabbit to Lakeside and Dr. Gonzales only took one look at her, did not listen to my list of symptoms, nor did she do any further tests. My rabbit came home and was doing okay for less than a month when she was sick again, displaying similar symptoms, but this time with more intensity. ive left a review on google only to be told that they didnt have a pet under my name which is bs or maybe because it passed away in the office it wasnt important enough . if i could leave negative 5 stars i would. first they claim to be exotic vets nope they arent . i had brough r my pet in to be seen no fecal samples were collected but it is okay to put them on antibiotics and hope for the best. how does the vet know what shes treating if no test were run and why did i pay 200.00 for treatment if she had no clue what was go... read more

On a Thursday we found our 2 mini rex rabbits paralyzed in their cage. I immediately called Lakeside Animal Hospital after they were referred by another animal clinic who didn't treat rabbits. Panicked but In good faith I called there and was told the doctor is in with a patient but I'll be called back. It took almost an hour! We then we told we could come by. When I got my puppy I was looking around for vets to take him to and stumbled across this one because it's close to my house. I've taken him there for all his puppy shots and I haven't had an issue. They are really sweet when I'm there and always sent you notifications when it's time for the next appointment. It is a bit pricey for my taste. lol but I'm a first time puppy owner so I don't know how much shots should be on average, but I've spent about $120-140 a trip.
