Get directionsI had a critically ill rabbit on Father's day, and had no idea this place existed until I was frantically trying to find help in the middle of the night. The staff was incredible; they were waiting for me when I arrived, rushed my little guy back, and took so much time sitting with me and delicately explaining treatment options based on his deteriorating condition. He passed during treatment, and they showed such kindness and patience. I'm so grateful they tried to save him, and showed such compassion when he didn't make... read more

Everyone at this place was so sweet, patient, and gentle with my leopard gecko. Dr. Bobula and Hunter really assured our worries and answered any questions we had. They really went above and beyond to help my little gecko. He is doing so much better now and I'm so thankful for them. We will start going to this vet for all animal emergencies.

My son dropped all of his raisins on the floor and my dog ate them. When I called, they told me to come in immediately. They were quick, efficient and nice. I really felt like a priority here. It's because if them, my dog is still here. The whole process took about 2 hours and that included me driving there - so easy. Thanks guys! You rock!
Business response:

If you're considering bringing your pet to this ER, please reconsider. Go to VEG ER instead. At VEG, everything happens right in front of you - the exam table is in the same room, you see what they're doing, you hear what they're saying, and you're involved in the decisions. There is transparency, compassion, and actual participation in your pet's care. At IVVH, your pet is taken to the back - out of sight, where they do questionable things that only they know about. You sit alone, scared and powerless, and have no idea wha... read more

We appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience and share your concerns. We’re truly sorry that this situation was so distressing and left you feeling uncertain during an already emotional time with your girl. We understand how frightening it can be when a pet requires a transfusion and then experiences an unexpected event. Not having clear answers afterward can make that experience even more overwhelming. That is never how we want our clients to feel. While emergency medicine often requires pets to be tre... read more
We brought our cat in for treatment around 4:30pm on New Year's Eve because she hadn't been eating or drinking for a few days and she was vomiting (despite being in good physical condition -- she put up quite a fight as I tried to load her into her carrier for transport!). We got to the office and it was quiet. They took her back and we waited for over three hours for them to come tell us that they examined her and palpated her abdomen. We were told she was a bit "urpy" (I'm sure this is a technical term) so they recommende... read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry that your visit with us on New Year’s Eve was frustrating and left you feeling unheard and pressured—especially during what was already a stressful situation with your cat. We understand how upsetting it can be to wait for updates, to have concerns about costs, and to feel uncertain about next steps when your pet isn’t feeling well. That is never how we want our clients to feel. While our recommendations are always made with the goal of gathering time... read more
Terrible experience, do not recommend -Appointment was at 8AM on a Monday. I stayed until 9:05 despite only having no more than 5mn of facetime with the staff and with no other customer waiting by the front office. No treatment was done/administered, I just waited in a room for the whole time and had to chase staff after not being seen for 20mn. - I was told I could get my cat tested for allergies (skin testing) which was not the case. Only blood testing was available - Pricing for the blood testing (and somehow for the ... read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re very sorry to hear that your visit was frustrating and did not meet your expectations. We understand how upsetting it can be to take time out of your day—especially for an early morning appointment—only to feel that your time was not respected. Waiting for extended periods with limited communication is not the experience we strive to provide. Even when our hospital is not visibly busy, medical workflows, staffing constraints, and patient care needs behind the sce... read more

Business response:
We’re very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced during your visit. A delay due to technical issues is frustrating, and we understand how upsetting it can be to wait longer than expected. While system outages are sometimes unavoidable, we should have communicated more clearly and set better expectations. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will use this feedback to improve how we handle unexpected disruptions in the future.
I was advised by multiple staff members to bring my 17 year old cat back for a wound dressing change for her infection that they did a minor procedure on, but each time we returned we were told we were misinformed by the staff and told a new vet consultation was required--despite already paying for the initial one. The initial vet refused to prescribe an alternative antibiotic without $600+ in tests and waiting one week for results, citing "antibiotic resistance," yet still prescribed 35 more pills of the same ineffective a... read more

Dear Samah, We’re truly sorry for the loss of your beloved cat and for the distress you experienced during her care. Losing a pet, especially after many years together, is incredibly painful. We sincerely regret that your visits with us added to that difficulty. We take your feedback very seriously and are reviewing the communication and treatment concerns you described with our team to ensure we provide clearer guidance and consistency for our clients. If you’re open to it, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to s... read more
Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital presents as an ER, but when my cat Alfred truly needed ER-level care, the basics were missed. We arrived with a 105°F fever and CKD II/III. I handed over his medical history immediately. Hours later I learned no IV fluids had been started--nearly four hours without fluids for a septic, fragile cat. Labs available during care showed a high-risk picture (creatinine 4.1, BUN 42, sodium 166, globulin 5.4, hematocrit falling from ~27% to 20.3%). Instead of a disciplined stabilization and clear pl... read more
