Get directionsI am extremely impressed by how clearly the ER doctor explained the process of how they choose which tests to do in the order that they do. This way, we are not spending more than necessary but we are also being sure we give the right level of care to our puppy. I am impressed by Patel Manoukian's calmness, clarity, and enthusiasm for this kind of profession, and I wish she could be our primary vet and forever ER doctor! I felt 100% comfortable with Mayzee in her care and IVVH, and this says a lot due to a poor experience I'... read more
On May 3, I brought my less than 1-year-old cockatiel after she broke her leg in a dog attack. She was still trying to live. I paid $99 for a consult. The doctor said she had a 50% recovery chance and seemed stable. But they didn't start treatment until 7:30 PM. She was discharged at 8:00 PM, then went into distress 15 minutes later. I rushed back--by 8:47 PM, she was gone. Afterward, the hospital claimed I was told she was dying--completely untrue. If I had known, I would've let her pass at home peacefully. The way they ... read more
If you have an emergency situation, please go somewhere else. I've had pets my entire life. Cats, dogs and birds. My cat jumped onto a roof from our balcony and broke his claw and his whole paw was bloody. He was limping around so I took him here (first and last time). I checked in at around 7pm and was told that the wait was an hour long. No big deal... well... that was bs. It's past 11pm as I'm typing this and they are just now seeing Pucci and I'm going to be here for another hour or more. A open wound that gets left untr... read more
Absolutely Heartbreaking Experience at Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital Emergency Bringing my less-than-one-year-old cockatiel to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital Emergency became the most heartbreaking decision of my life. On May 2nd, she was attacked by dog during a flight attempt and broke her leg. Despite the injury, she fought hard to live--eating little, but trying. On May 3rd, realizing it might be a fracture, I rushed to this "24-hour emergency walk-in" hospital. I called at 3:30, was given a 4:30 walk-in time, b... read more
Terrible. This place is a death sentence for your pets who need emergency attention. They charged thousands only to give test results 2 WEEKS and some days later, 2 days AFTER my bird passed. No urgency at all. The staff was really unhelpful when I informed them I was running low on formula ( his main source of feed) for my sick bird it took them a whole night to have the next batch ready for pickup. Mind you they're 24 hours... They also instructed me to feed my bird 1/4 of his supposed daily portions. Never gave me clear ... read more
I want to begin with a good note. When me and my mother walked in we were treated respectfully and all of the staff members at the hospital were kind and respectful. We had no issue with the service done by the employees but the treatment that was done to our dog. Our dog at the time suffered with CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) for around 2-3 months with no severe issues. A couple days before we visited the hospital he began to barely eat or do any activity throughout the day. We had a couple of tests done the first night we a... read more
I am not one to write reviews but I'm doing so as a warning to other pet owners, when something does not feel right, trust your instincts. To summarize, Sunny, my dog was experiencing lethargy, and loss of appetite for 2 days. He was not in respiratory distress, however does have a hx of collapsed trachea. We brought him to Irvine valley vet hospital around 10PM. He was assessed by Dr. Fletcher who ordered a chest xray and O2 therapy. Per the doctor's interpretation of the chest Xray, Sunny had fluid in the lungs and a white... read more
Not happy at all! Did unneeded treatment. Really overpriced. Didn't take good care of my pet.
I called ahead to make sure that tonight was a good time to bring my dog over who is experiencing a fever, and the technician on the phone said they would be happy to help and I could head over in the next 20 minutes (I realize now that this technician was likely at a call center and not at the actual clinic I was headed to) . To make a long story short upon arrival I realize quite quickly that there was no way my dog was going to be seen anytime soon and I was presented with the potential wait time of between "15 minutes a... read more
