This place is great to bring your pets. Easy to make an appointment. Quick check in. Professional employees. Great customer service to my puppy and us parents.

We went to IVVH yesterday, Christmas, for the first time. They were 5 star excellent. Wait was tolerable. Everybody was sweet, sympathetic, and respectful. Well run and organized. The vet, Dr. Liz Kelley, was wonderful. Smart, direct, to the point, comprehensive. I will be using them for my emergency vet (hopefully will never need) in the future.

I was advised by multiple staff members to bring my 17 year old cat back for a wound dressing change for her infection that they did a minor procedure on, but each time we returned we were told we were misinformed by the staff and told a new vet consultation was required--despite already paying for the initial one. The initial vet refused to prescribe an alternative antibiotic without $600+ in tests and waiting one week for results, citing "antibiotic resistance," yet still prescribed 35 more pills of the same ineffective a... read more

Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital presents as an ER, but when my cat Alfred truly needed ER-level care, the basics were missed. We arrived with a 105°F fever and CKD II/III. I handed over his medical history immediately. Hours later I learned no IV fluids had been started--nearly four hours without fluids for a septic, fragile cat. Labs available during care showed a high-risk picture (creatinine 4.1, BUN 42, sodium 166, globulin 5.4, hematocrit falling from ~27% to 20.3%). Instead of a disciplined stabilization and clear pl... read more

This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I've ever had at a vet. I waited six hours with my dog, and every time staff told me "you're next in line," it turned into, "oh, looks like you'll have to wait another 45 minutes." This happened over and over with zero accountability. My dog was stressed, exhausted, and miserable the entire time. I could hear laughing coming from the emergency room while we sat there, which was infuriating given how many of us were stuck waiting. When it was finally time to... read more

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration you and your dog went through during your visit. Long waits are never easy, and it’s clear from your review that we did not communicate or support you in the way we should have. We’re especially concerned about the interactions you described with our staff and want to assure you that this is not the level of care or professionalism we strive for. We are taking your comments seriously and will be reviewing both our commun... read more

On May 3, I brought my less than 1-year-old cockatiel after she broke her leg in a dog attack. She was still trying to live. I paid $99 for a consult. The doctor said she had a 50% recovery chance and seemed stable. But they didn't start treatment until 7:30 PM. She was discharged at 8:00 PM, then went into distress 15 minutes later. I rushed back--by 8:47 PM, she was gone. Afterward, the hospital claimed I was told she was dying--completely untrue. If I had known, I would've let her pass at home peacefully. The way they ... read more

Business response:

If you have an emergency situation, please go somewhere else. I've had pets my entire life. Cats, dogs and birds. My cat jumped onto a roof from our balcony and broke his claw and his whole paw was bloody. He was limping around so I took him here (first and last time). I checked in at around 7pm and was told that the wait was an hour long. No big deal... well... that was bs. It's past 11pm as I'm typing this and they are just now seeing Pucci and I'm going to be here for another hour or more. A open wound that gets left untr... read more

Absolutely Heartbreaking Experience at Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital Emergency Bringing my less-than-one-year-old cockatiel to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital Emergency became the most heartbreaking decision of my life. On May 2nd, she was attacked by dog during a flight attempt and broke her leg. Despite the injury, she fought hard to live--eating little, but trying. On May 3rd, realizing it might be a fracture, I rushed to this "24-hour emergency walk-in" hospital. I called at 3:30, was given a 4:30 walk-in time, b... read more

Terrible. This place is a death sentence for your pets who need emergency attention. They charged thousands only to give test results 2 WEEKS and some days later, 2 days AFTER my bird passed. No urgency at all. The staff was really unhelpful when I informed them I was running low on formula ( his main source of feed) for my sick bird it took them a whole night to have the next batch ready for pickup. Mind you they're 24 hours... They also instructed me to feed my bird 1/4 of his supposed daily portions. Never gave me clear ... read more
