We stopped coming to The Drake because of the overall care of our dogs, not to mention the many changes in staff. Picked our pup up from a few days of boarding one afternoon and he had dried barf on his face. Appeared as though no one had been taking care of him. And he looked weary. For anyone who has read my yelp on The Drake Center, I'd like to say that My actions were justified today by a French Bulldog specialist. This qualified compassionate Vet said that I had made the right choice to NOT continue care with the Drake Center. The anesthesia and sedation they used is not one that should be used on this type of dog. My Bff's tooth was extracted this time with no issues. I was a client of the drake center-and recently had to return to take a neighbors golden retriever in for an emergency while they were away on vacation. The experience again reminded me of why I left as a client. Originally three years ago we brought one of our flat coat retrievers in because she had developed a lump on her leg, The vet at the time felt it was nothing but wanted to biopsy it. I love the drake center! I take my two dogs there, and they are always wonderful. I love how they always call to follow up on your pets. Everyone is so friendly. I would definitely recommend them.
This group of vets, techs, and support staff is outstanding! They have been understanding, compassionate, and extremely helpful. They truly listen and work with you to provide the best care for your pets. My sweet dog has been given two "bonus" years due to Dr. Baum and Dr. Shotwell's expertise. Love them!!
Drake has changed my opinion about vet offices. I had previously been with a vet who was impersonal, the office was dirty, and they shooed me away when they didn't think my dog's issues were "intense" enough. Stepping into Drake was a breath of fresh air. The office was immaculate, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the vet was SO kind and sat on the floor with my pup until she was comfortable. 3 stars for trying to schedule an appointment. Requested an appointment online. Then received a phone call the next morning to schedule. Awesome. Then received a voicemail from another employee asking to schedule my appointment. Hmmm. Called back to let them know I already had an appointment schedule. Then received an email to confirm an appointment for an entirely different day/time. Had to call back a third time to confirm my original appointment date and time. 5 stars for our yet! The Drake Center was great, we were able to schedule an appointment the day we called for our new puppy Zoe. They were very helpful answering all of our questions and giving her the care that she needed. They were very helpful explaining ahead of time and during our consultation the prices for Zoe's needs and they were not unreasonable. We were referred to them by our friend, we will definitely be back for all of Zoe's future check ups.
