Last August my husband and I adopted our puppy Piper. We rescued her from a less than ideal situation and really didn't know much about her or her health history and wanted to get her in to see a vet ASAP, so the next day we called around and after several calls and quotes on puppy packages we settled on the Drake Center and ever since we have been so glad we did! We usually see Dr. Shotwell and she is wonderful! When we first took in Piper she spent a good hour and a half looking her over and giving us advice. Piper was und... read more

Excellent care for all animals that come in. I fully trust them with my elderly German Shephard and feel confident in their compassion for all animals entrusted with their care. The doctors have all been well equipped to handle any situation that they encounter with your pet. Dr. Shotwell has been great with my concerns and well versed in all care needed. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants excellent care for their pet.

We have been taking our new puppy to see Dr Kovacs since she came home with us last January. She is the kindest vet I have ever had in 25 years. She also helped us with a decision to move one of our most loved pups , Lucy to the rainbow bridge. She was so helpful in understanding our grief.

I want to start by saying the doctors at Drake do care for care for our furry friends but I feel like the $ takes precedence over the proper care and diagnosis. We had a great first experience with our pup. Why the lower score? I think it would be a great benefit to many pet owners who are trying to give their animals the best care to know they have other lower cost options for purchasing medication, which is very costly. Especially when you have an animal that needs medication for the rest of their life. It would also benef... read more

We have 2 King Charles Spaniels which are 9 years old. We have been taking our pets to The Drake Center since they were puppies. The attention and love that is given to them by the Staff and Doctors is excellent. We would not think of going elsewhere. Doyleen P.

We stopped coming to The Drake because of the overall care of our dogs, not to mention the many changes in staff. Picked our pup up from a few days of boarding one afternoon and he had dried barf on his face. Appeared as though no one had been taking care of him. And he looked weary. He had always loved being there, but something definitely changed. Not sure exactly what happened during that particular stay, and no one on duty could seem to tell us, either. We were heartbroken to find him like this when we arrived. The sad t... read more

For anyone who has read my yelp on The Drake Center, I'd like to say that My actions were justified today by a French Bulldog specialist. This qualified compassionate Vet said that I had made the right choice to NOT continue care with the Drake Center. The anesthesia and sedation they used is not one that should be used on this type of dog. My Bff's tooth was extracted this time with no issues. No one should be treated the way we were treated at the Drake Center. As I stated before. This was not the only indecent. After... read more

I was a client of the drake center-and recently had to return to take a neighbors golden retriever in for an emergency while they were away on vacation. The experience again reminded me of why I left as a client. Originally three years ago we brought one of our flat coat retrievers in because she had developed a lump on her leg, The vet at the time felt it was nothing but wanted to biopsy it. The biopsy came back and it was malignant. I had no issue with the fact that the diagnosis was off-the issue I had was the vet left a ... read more
