Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital is honestly the best experience I've ever had with any vet and I've had pets my whole life. My French Bulldog woke me up in the middle of the night screaming in a way I've never heard before and trying to climb up my husband's chest. We were super confused about what could be wrong with her because she's always been a very healthy and loving dog, she's 3 and we adopted her when she was 7 months old. Dr. Tarlan Shalchian listened intently and empathetically to our concerns and was so good wit... read more

We've had to bring our dog here twice in the past month, and our experience with Dr Fletcher and the staff who work the overnight shift have always been stellar. Yes, this place can have a wait if your pet isn't in critical condition, but that's to be expected in an emergency room servicing a huge part of Irvine. However, the staff are super kind, understanding, and pleasant people - especially Brandon who works the front desk, and Mayra who handles payment and going over the bill. Vet bills always feel exorbitantly high, ... read more

IVVH made a day I absolutely dreaded for so long and made it a sweet goodbye. We have been to IVVH for previous visits for our oversized 14 year old GSD, Yogi, and each time, we were met with compassion, knowledge, and professionalism in some of our darkest moments. This last time was no different except that we finally had to say goodbye to Yogi. He just ran out of life. Brandon was so caring in how he spoke with us. He kept us up to date on Yogi's status, explained in very compassionate ways our options and allowed us the ... read more

The whole staff was amazing and incredibly supportive! From the moment Brendon saw our urgency and admitted us right away, to the constant update during Rocket's stay, and through the discharge and post visit follow ups, we felt reassured that Rocket was going to be ok. While we hope there won't be any more emergencies, we know that our little Rocket will be in good hands with IVVH.

They took care of our family dog, Galen, when he had gotten sick very quickly out of nowhere. He lost the ability to walk or even stand within 24 hours. There was quite a long wait, but it is totally understandable considering it's an ER. The staff were so sweet and caring. The vet did a great job at explaining our options, she had a very calm presence and was very knowledgeable. He ended up passing less than a week later, but I have full trust in irvine valley vet hospital for my other pets, if anything were to happen. I'... read more

When I realized something was wrong with my new kitten, I totally panicked and just searched for the closest emergency vet near me on Yelp. I had no idea that quick decision would lead to such amazing care. From the very first phone call with the receptionist, I felt like we were in good hands. I brought him in right away per her instructions, and even though he had to stay a few days, the staff made everything so much easier. They sent me photos and regular updates through their app, and answered all my (many, many) questi... read more

My kitty was sneezing a lot and feeling a little lethargic, so I called the office here off Sand Canyon and spoke with someone who suggested I come in. As I came in worried about her they all greeted me with warm smiles and positive attitudes. Which was needed because I personally was freaking out. Every step of the way each and every employee here made me feel comforted. Brandon was an absolute angel throughout me waiting by making me laugh, talking about random things to keep my mind occupied, and even made me some chamomi... read more

Business response:

Dear Melissa, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're so glad we could be there for you and Salsa during a stressful night. It means the world to hear that our team — Brandon, Dr. Nikki, Hunter, Toni, Sammie, Rachel, and Emma — helped you feel supported and cared for every step of the way. We know how hard it is to see a beloved pet feeling unwell, especially in the middle of the night, and we’re so grateful you trusted us with Salsa’s care. We’re thrilled to hear she’s feeling better ... read more

Last night was our second time taking our Shiba to induce vomiting. We celebrated Mother's day at midnight with our precious little mother ****** who thought it prudent to swallow a 2 inch shard of chicken bone off the street side, so sharp I actually bled my finger trying to break it in half. We visited and I wanted to avoid inducing vomiting but the vet tech said it's much lower risk to induce vomiting than a $$$$ surgery if we gambled on it. Let me be clear, our little hellraiser has been banned from daycares, bit me 5 ti... read more

Business response:

Dear Justin, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story — and what a story it was! We're glad to hear your Shiba made it through the chicken bone incident safely (and in true dramatic fashion!). Sammy and the rest of our team will be thrilled to know their care and calm guidance made such a difference in a very stressful moment. We know how challenging emergency visits can be, especially with a spirited pup, and we’re truly honored that you trusted us again to help. We’ll be sure to share your kind words wit... read more
