My experience with WeCare was absolutely horrible. My beloved dog was attacked by a pitbull . On the recommendation of my veterinarian I took him over to WeCare, to ensure the neck laceration he received from the pit attack did not damage his major artery in his neck. These people show me how much they don't care. They often talk about cost and I got the impression that money was the only goal. They really didn't care if my beloved dog would survive his injury. They quoted me a price which I had no problem paying, however it... read more

Business response:

Our goal is to provide excellent quality Veterinary care. This does come with a cost and it is part of our Veterinary technicians jobs to give you an estimate of what those costs will be. It isn't because we only think of money, it's because we want our patients owner's to understand what the treatment recommendations are and how much they cost. So that they/you can make decisions about treatment and our recommendations. We gave you an estimate based on a quick look at your pet and the injury he received. You explained ... read more

I came here on the recommendation of my primary vet office. I had an emergency and my dog was throwing up blood. After two hours and 465$, they could tell me NOTHING that was wrong with my pet, but they did offer to do more blood work and keep him overnight and give him more meds (he had this same episode a month ago and I did the same thing at with his vet). I am sorely disappointed in their services and it will be very difficult for me to bring my pet here again.

Business response:

Unfortunately, preliminary diagnostics (emergency examination, blood work and an abdominal ultrasound) do not always reveal a definitive diagnosis. Dr. McGuire, is a highly regarded Internal Medicine specialist. She recommended hospitalization, IV fluids and injectable anti-vomiting medications because she thought that would be the best course of treatment for your pet. As you described, your pet had a similar bout of vomiting a month ago. When you declined this, she additionally offered at the minimum treatment of SQ fl... read more

The staff here was fantastic, and I wish I could write a great review just for them. However, our experience with Dr. Andrew Walther was absolutely terrible. We brought our border collie in with a snakebite, and Dr. Walther took advantage of our concern for attempted profit. He examined our dog separately from us, then told us she needed a $1500 course of treatment. When we balked at the price and started asking for details about the treatment, he acted indignant and started pressuring us and questioning our love for our dog... read more

Business response:

I am very sorry you had a bad experience with Dr. Walther. We have many other Veterinarians who work at WECARE and I would encourage you (if the need ever arises again) to give us another chance to provide your pets with good quality veterinary care. I will definitely speak with Dr. Walther to assure that this does not happen in the future. I am glad to hear that your pet is doing well. Thank you for your feedback.

I just wanted my dog well.. I was leaving for vacation in a week and didn't want to leave my dog home sick..long story short ... read more

This Emergency Vet location is horrible. We took our puppy in needing stitches. They want to do x-rays to see if he swallowed something. The reason we brought our puppy in was for stitches. No x-rays! He did not swallow anything. After our puppy was admitted, they say that before they do any surgery that they would call and let us know, if there were any changes to our bill, they would call and let us know. They gave us an estimated quote of how much our bill would be $800 is the lowest and $1,000 was the max and if they ... read more

Business response:

Mr. R Your puppy presented to the Emergency hospital for profuse bleeding from the tongue. His tongue was severely lacerated and needed surgical correction to aid in healing and to stop the bleeding. It was our understanding, per your description of the events, that your dog was chewing on something that caused the laceration. For that reason, we recommended abdominal radiographs. Our thinking was that if the item he was chewing on was sharp enough to cause the laceration and amount of blood, we better make sure he didn... read more

Why is there not a no stars option? One is too many. Just took my dog for allergy issues and the vet did not have the allergy medicine that would help fix the underlying cause of the problem. Instead of prescribing the correct medication the vet decided to prescribe medicine that would give a temporary solution to the current symptoms, which is fine for now, but I need the long term fix as well. Once the medication runs out the symptoms will come back without the proper treatment. I asked the vet for a prescription so I coul... read more

Business response:

Emergency Veterinary hospitals should not be used as a replacement for your family Veterinarian. Your family Vet plays an important role in your pets overall health. They should see your pet yearly, give your pet a complete examination, keep your pet vaccinated, free from fleas and ticks, provide heart worm prevention and offer resolutions to your pets day to day problems. Allergies and allergic reactions can be stressful for the pet and pet owner. They should not be managed long term by an Emergency Veterinary hospital.... read more

This place is a straight up waste of time. We took our dog here for emergency services as she has a sudden onset of hearing loss due to a prescribed antibiotic. Our vet suggested we take her to an emergency care facility in hopes that her ears could be flushed. We called and explained the issue to the young lady who answered the phone. We asked if they would be able to flush her ears and also examine her ear drum. She said yes that is something we could do. Flash forward to a 20 mile drive and sitting in the office being tol... read more

Business response:

Mia, I am sorry that your experience here was not to your expectations. I agree that the Veterinarian should have come in to see you and your dog. Unfortunately, as an emergency hospital "Emergencies" come first. Our staff was busy trying to save a pets life. The Veterinarian sent a technician in to ask questions because he couldn't break away. You told us that your pet was not painful, your pet did not have a head tilt, and that their was no discharge from the ear. You were worried that your pet was deaf or experienci... read more

I can only speak of the after-hours emergency service. If you bring your pet here during the daytime it might be a different story but for an emergency out of normal business hours, look elsewhere. My pet developed diarrhea over the weekend so I brought him here. The receptionist was friendly and she informed us that the consultation fee after hours was $100. That seemed fair, and we agreed. The tech who took us to the room and checked my pet's vitals was also friendly and so was the doctor who saw him. Doctor Peralta. The m... read more

Just got back from having to get our dog euthanized after a long fight with several health issues. I called Waldorf Emergency Care at 3am and was greeted by a very helpful woman on the phone. They took us right away and were extremely understanding of the situation. Would recommend them in a second. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars was for the price but if you are going to bring your pet short notice in the middle of the night you have to expect it.
