Quoted us $674 per dog for neuter. The county website gives names of vets who offer programs for $75.00 per dog this includes everything! Although the vet techs at the drake center will lie and tell you it does not include collar and meds. They do not share this info. Stay away !

We took our recently adopted puppy for a complimentary evaluation. She had a few health problems and some behavioral issues. We were impressed with the staff and how they made a visit to the vet a non-stressful occasion (for the dog). They spent a lot of time with us, did an extensive evaluation, counseled us on the behavioral challenges and provided excellent care for the dog. We are very impressed and will be returning.

We absolutely love the Drake Center. My family originally started taking our dog there over 20 years ago when they were located on Encinitas Blvd. They always treated our golden retriever so well, even on that horrible day when we had to put him to sleep at age 13. I remember Dr. Shotwell crying with us on that day, and sending us a personal sympathy card later that week. Sad stories aside, I'm now married and have my own golden retriever with my husband. I was in from San FDiego visiting my brother when my dog started peeing blood (yikes). Drake was about as good as it gets-found off of Yelp. They reviewed my dog's history from my SF vet, did some tests, and even gave me several other findings that I had been seeking on wierd symptoms (and printouts or articles). Despite being an emergency visit the vet did an overall checkup at no additional charge, followed it up with an email and call, then sent a written thank you letter, despite my living out of town. I first learned about the Drake Center when I worked as a personal assistant and my employer would have me take his dog there. The staff are always friendly and the doctors really seem to care about all of the pets that walk through the doors. Personally I have taken my cats there and they have all received wonderful care. If you are an owner who considers their pet to truly be a member of the family then the Drake Center is the perfect veterinary center for you.

My dog eats inappropriate items and has had to been seen twice on an emergency basis. The Drake Center staff got her right in, x-rays were completed and the Doctor. talked to me about our options. The staff and all of the doctors were kind and considerate and gave me a clear outline not only of costs but of the options. I have a 10 year history with The Drake Center and I believe them to be the best animal hospital in North County. They are extremely professional, compassionate and have always provided excellent care. They truly care for their clients... the animals and the humans! If you have two old Labradors who both have numerous ailments then you can truly appreciate the professional and caring staff and not to forget the hours at the Drake Center! I have been taking my two pups, Stella and Sophie to the Drake Center for almost 6 years. As a lifelong dog owner, I have never been to a more amazing veterinary clinic.
