Our dog received the Lepto vaccine in June 2011. He immediately went into anaphylactic shock and was completely paralyzed and immobile (see my previous post). I had to carry him back into the Drake Center. Eventually he made a partial recovery but was slower and he began knuckle dragging on his walks. Unknown to me at the time, but this is a tell tale sign of a neurological issue. His condition gradually deteriorated over the next 18 months, until he could barely walk again. Our records show that your dog received the vaccine in June 2011 and that he was seen the very next day for limping, which we determined to be a reaction to the vaccine. The Drake Center is a fantastic veterinary practice. The doctors and staff are compassionate loving providers and go out of their way to make me feel welcome. I would never take my pets anywhere else.
The Drake Center will always give the absolute best care possible! The receptionists, vets, and technicians are so loving to all of my pets, and I could not imagine taking them anywhere else!! I highly recommend this facility!

Very disappointed with Drake. We took both of our dogs there for a few years and were pleased with the service and staff despite the elevated pricing. Our dog started having some problems and our visits were more frequent with the same result and extremely high expenses. It was clear that she wasn't get any better so we went to two other vets for second opinions. Dr. Shotwell lovingly cared for our late dog and two cats. We took our Golden in for grooming. If they bathed her, it was superficial. Her undercarriage was not trimmed as requested, and she still smelled like she rolled in something. We contacted Drake to express our concerns and never received a response. As for vet services, we put this same dog through a battery of tests at Drake and were given a few costly options that did not seem to address the problem. I was a vet tech for 8 years before I moved to the west coast. Obviously, I am going to be VERY particular about where our 4 dogs (and our foster dogs) go. I tend to "test" vets by having a treatment plan before I go in and then seeing what they recommend. As a Professional Dog Trainer I'm asked daily about which Veterinary services I recommend . I can always feel comfortable recommending the Drake Center. They're Vets are top notch and all the staff truly loves there job. That's by far a good indicator of the kind of place this is.
