Do not take your pet here unless you are rich! We are $1,700 into a diagnosis for our 10 year old cat - 4 visits, so many "guesses" as to what our cat may have, later! It infuriates me how we were duped into "one more test" is needed and in the end $175 worth of meds and we still don't know for sure if it will work! What these ridiculously expensive vets do is they cause pet owners, who truly love their pets, to truly consider putting their loved ones down because they can't afford to test them over and over for simple ur... read more

I really enjoyed using this vet the past couple of years and the staff is friendly and informative. Today I brought my dog in with symptoms of Gastroenteritis (Vomiting and diarrhea) took some x-rays and they couldn't tell if the dog had a linear foreign body (a object he ate) stuck in his stomach. Their first recommendation was surgery and not antibiotics and medication, I know this is a tough decision for vets to make because some objects don't show up on x-rays that can block a dogs stomach. I took my vets recommendation... read more
Been satisfied with NP until I called a few weeks (maybe a month ago) asking about arthritis medication for my dog, was told that someone would talk to the vet about our case and get back to me. Never received a call back or any update. The person on phone didn't sound very confident in what she was saying or doing, but should have followed up as she told me she would.
I wish I could give this vet -100000000, it is truly the WORST vet I've ever been to. We have 4 animals and not once have they acted like they care about the animals, they nickel and dime to the extreme and it's clear that is ALL they care about. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have to do anything they make it as hard and inconvenient as it can be for me. Their office manager Karen is for real terrible and just rude as well as the staff. I've asked for the owner of the vet to contact me MANY times and that has never happened. DO NOT tak... read more
Absolutely awful. Within 2 minutes of being there they tried pushing pet insurance on us which is fine but they told us we HAD to commit to the "deal"within 24hrs or the offer would be void. The vet also pushed another 2 unnecessary surgeries on our pup (He is a show dog of HIGH pedigree ) urging us to get him "much needed" dental surgery due to his K9's digging into his gums, which we considered but decided to wait for him to grow into his head. His teeth are perfectly fine now that he isn't a 5 month old puppy. Then they t... read more

Thank you for the review. We do not sell insurance at our hospital, so I assume you're referring to our Wellness Plan option which we offer to every new client. Our plan allows clients who desire full wellness care for their pets to get this not only at a discounted rate, but also on a 12 month payment plan for easy budgeting. We discuss the 24 hour sign up just so the savings can be applied to the first visit! We offer the 24 hour grace period so most people can go home and discuss it with their spouse or partner if they ne... read more
So sad. I had recently moved to Colorado Spring and I knew my cat needed some extractions. I contacted North Powers Animal Hospital and made an appointment. They immediately tried to push their animal wellness plan on me. That's never a good sign. My cat needed pre-op bloodwork which revealed bad news, lymphoma. Then I had additional testing to confirm the diagnosis (flow cytometry). I last spoke with Dr. Markel two weeks ago and she was going to consult with a colleague before I made a decision on whether to proceed ... read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! When I made the appointment for my 2 yr old German Shepherd I had just purchased, they asked me many questions, all of which I answered. In the past 2 days I got 3 texts asking me to confirm. When I came, I got my dog out of the car and tried to go in. The doors are locked even though I was on time and they could see us through the glass doors and glass walls. Not when I made the appointment, nor in the 3 long texts to confirm was I ever told you have to stay in your car the whole time and call a n... read more
Unfortunately has to take my cat to a new clinic. This office over immunizes, constantly embellished minimal normal feline stress symptoms. The straw that broke the camel's back: you cannot accompany your pet during and exam. I understand some procedures, the owner should not be in the room; but routine exams- they need to change their practice.
If I could give a minus star I would! We had been going to see Dr Welfare for a few years and thought he was a good vet, I say thought because as time went by I realized he was only in it for the money!! Running unnecessary test on my pets, never listening to me ( I know my fur babies) and costing me a fortune! Last October I noticed a lump on my dogs anus, brought my boy in and immediately Dr. Welfare said he needed to do surgery because it was cancer. I said not till I get an ultrasound to see if the cancer spread interna... read more
