Get directionsI have taken my pets to CPAH for 20 years. However, I recently decided to take them to Sunshine Animal Hospital for a number of reasons. It has been increasingly difficult to reach CPAH by phone. Staff who answer the phone seem overwhelmed and disorganized. I scheduled an appointment for an annual checkup CPAH requires in order to refill medicine for my pet. I took my pet to the checkup but they apparently did not do all of the procedures they are supposed to do in order to refill the prescription. When I went to get t... read more
DO NOT GO HERE!! I wish I could give this place 0 stars because this place is despicable. Our family dog died and we brought her in to be cremated. We communicated several times that we wanted to keep her ashes and paid for the cremation as well as a paw print. They said it would be ready in one week. About two weeks later they called stating the paw print was ready to be picked up. My brother arrived and asked where the ashes were. The front desk member showed him a form where it was checked that the owner did not want to k... read more
My pups receive outstanding care at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital. I've never had to wait long for a scheduled appointment and even for an unscheduled urgent appointment. Would give 5 stars, but check-in/check-out could be more systematic and hold wait times on the phone can be a bit long (because they probably have a busy lobby at the moment). They have friendly, caring staff and reasonable pricing for their services (to include military discount).
This is a long review but it provides evidence as to why you should never bring your pet here for care. After going to this place for over 20 years with 7+ pets, i've decided to take my animals elsewhere due to the constant disregard and disrespect that i've experienced by the staff and vets. 1. I had a cat die in their care about a year ago. he was in perfect health his entire life and suddenly became very lethargic and seemed sick. after taking him in and receiving treatment we took him back home only to have his conditio... read more
They need to update their website as it constitutes false advertising. The exact words used on their website is: "Our pet boarding facility accommodates not only dogs and cats, but also rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs." However, upon calling them, they tell you they only do boarding for dogs and cats.
Took our Pomsky in at the end of May 2019 because he would not stop circling. They ran blood test but did not know what it could be. Fast forward to today 10/22/2019. Our vet thinks he may have a liver shunt and wanted all his past test results faxed to their office. I called and a girl put me on hold for 30 minutes before it went to a mailbox that was full. She kept picking up the phone and placing me back on hold. She never even asked what I needed. Just kept picking up the phone and placing me on hold. I wish there was a ... read more
If you thinking about Boarding your pet here DONT DO IT !!! I recently boarded my 6 month old dog for a week and he's not only sick but been none stop crying on and off since I've picked him up which is totally not normal for him. When I picked him up they lost his bag and couldn't find it and made me wait for a hour and a half and when they did find it it was stuff missing. They did not feed him properly even though I sent him with more than enough food and precise instructions which they did not follow because he's already... read more
Only interested in your money, not your pet! Stay as far away as possible. Our dog, Mako, suddenly fell ill on a weekend. On Sunday, when it was clear that he needed to see a doctor, his regular vert was closed, so we went to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital on an emergency basis. Looking back, I should have known immediately that is was all about the money for them. After his initial exam and blood work showed his liver and kidney enzymes were off the charts and he needed immediate attention in the way of IV fluids and anti... read more
My husband Brent and I moved to Annandale from Falls Church a few years ago with our now 13-year old Shih Tzu, Toby. I looked into taking advantage of CPAH since it was so conveniently close, however I decided to stick with Falls Church Animal Hospital due to the many terrible reviews I read about CPAH. I wanted to get Toby groomed prior to us leaving for vacation, but it didn't work out. Instead, against my best judgement, I decided to take him to CPAH to at least take care of his long nails...what could go wrong? The te... read more
