They need to update their website as it constitutes false advertising. The exact words used on their website is: "Our pet boarding facility accommodates not only dogs and cats, but also rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs." However, upon calling them, they tell you they only do boarding for dogs and cats.

Took our Pomsky in at the end of May 2019 because he would not stop circling. They ran blood test but did not know what it could be. Fast forward to today 10/22/2019. Our vet thinks he may have a liver shunt and wanted all his past test results faxed to their office. I called and a girl put me on hold for 30 minutes before it went to a mailbox that was full. She kept picking up the phone and placing me back on hold. She never even asked what I needed. Just kept picking up the phone and placing me on hold. I wish there was a ... read more

If you thinking about Boarding your pet here DONT DO IT !!! I recently boarded my 6 month old dog for a week and he's not only sick but been none stop crying on and off since I've picked him up which is totally not normal for him. When I picked him up they lost his bag and couldn't find it and made me wait for a hour and a half and when they did find it it was stuff missing. They did not feed him properly even though I sent him with more than enough food and precise instructions which they did not follow because he's already... read more

Business response:

Hello Monae: I am a Manager at Columbia Pike who has just been made aware of your circumstances. Indeed, boarding is always stressful for pets. Like us, they react differently. The spectrum can go from just plain bored to severe gastrointestinal illness, all from the stress of separation from their family and home. Compound your circumstances with having a puppy may explain many symptoms you've seen. We try our best to keep up with the owner's belongings but unfortunately, we may miss the mark from time to time. We are so... read more

Only interested in your money, not your pet! Stay as far away as possible. Our dog, Mako, suddenly fell ill on a weekend. On Sunday, when it was clear that he needed to see a doctor, his regular vert was closed, so we went to Columbia Pike Animal Hospital on an emergency basis. Looking back, I should have known immediately that is was all about the money for them. After his initial exam and blood work showed his liver and kidney enzymes were off the charts and he needed immediate attention in the way of IV fluids and anti... read more

My husband Brent and I moved to Annandale from Falls Church a few years ago with our now 13-year old Shih Tzu, Toby. I looked into taking advantage of CPAH since it was so conveniently close, however I decided to stick with Falls Church Animal Hospital due to the many terrible reviews I read about CPAH. I wanted to get Toby groomed prior to us leaving for vacation, but it didn't work out. Instead, against my best judgement, I decided to take him to CPAH to at least take care of his long nails...what could go wrong? The te... read more

After a friend recommended this place, I called and asked first if they treat "cherry eye" they said yes, all the time. When I asked how much this would cost (my dog has Banfield)I was told the first visit is free. When I checked out to my surprise my bill was almost $200, part of the bill was pharmacy $70 but the rest was "eye test", other charges. I understand the pharmacy cost, but they should have explained "free consultation" is really just "office visit" nothing more. If there was 0 star I would have rated this clini... read more

I had a nightmarish experience at Columbia Pike Animal Hospital. I brought my cat Max, a 16-year-old with advanced CKD. At first everything seemed OK, and we decided to hospitalize Max for 24 hours to get him rehydrated. After the 24 hours his kidney values did not improve much. At this point we were set on just bringing him home and giving him supportive care (Sub-q fluids as well as other medications). The vet did not seem to want to let us bring Max home. She told us the options that she recommended were to continue hospi... read more

Terrible terrible pet care. Please consider reading other reviews and if you do decide to bring your pet on a visit, pay attention to some of the grievances posted. 1) clinic is set up like a retail store with young front desk staff who simply do their best to speed up the process administratively without paying attention to your comfort or whether or not you have questions about future appointments, etc. 2) the vet tech staff seems fairly incompetent. I needed to check my invoice and remind them to give me all of my medicati... read more
