Absolutely the best, most knowledgeable, caring, loving and efficient vet we've ever gone to. We had been going to another vet in La Costa who misdiagnosed my cat, sold me lot of super expensive meds and talked about a thyroid nodule on my cat that would have to be surgically removed even though it didn't show up on any scans!!!! We decided to get a second opinion and chose the Drake Center because it was open 7 days a week and took walk ins. We were fortunate enough to come in and get assigned to Dr Dowd! We love these doctors! We have a spirited Shepherd and Dr. Sarah knows exactly how to interact with him. The techs are all great with him, too. They have provided outstanding care and we have recommended them to multiple people.

I am a veterinarian (big creatures only!) and this is where I take my dogs and cats to be sure they get the very best care. The front desk staff are cheerful, courteous and efficient, the technicians are all very good and knowledgeable. I've used all the veterinarians at the clinic and they are well trained, kind, personable and practical. I've never been kept waiting for my appointment. Great personal attention for me and my pets.

Such fantastic care and attention from everyone at The Drake Center! We've brought all of our animals here since 2002 when we moved to the area. We've experienced many ups and downs with our pets during that time and have been supported all the way by these wonderful individuals. 10 Stars to Dr. Keala Shotwell!!!

Best most friendly staff. All the doctors are very knowledgeable and professional. I have taken my cat Kiki there twice now and was very happy with their expertise. She's an inside/outside cat who likes to hunt and fight. I'm very pleased with their service and will be bringing my pup bull dog there soon.

Best. Vet. Ever!!! Dr. Kovac is the vet I wish I had known my whole life. We have found our 'home' at The Drake Center and will forever bring all of our animals to this office! Amazing, knowledgable, friendly staff; a clean, state-of-the-art facility and reasonable pricing. Super stoked!!!

Inflexible vet practice. If I were not already using them for my dogs I would switch to another group. Went again today. Assigned me a vet I do not like after telling them that months ago. Wanted to get test for Addison, which they promised. That did not happen. Again disappointed in Drake. My dog does not interact with other dogs so would have preferred he not get Bortadell vaccine, but they gave me no choice.

Here's a more balanced and effective way to express your frustration while removing accusatory phrasing and keeping the tone respectful but firm: *** I'm very disappointed about my father's recent experience at the Drake Center. He's traveled the country and has never encountered a situation where caring for his elderly dog cost over $1,000 without being clearly informed beforehand. The doctor are excellent. My only complaint is the cost of some medications your dog can need. There prices are exorbitant. My dog was itching and the med they gave me cost $120 for a bottle. That same bottle sells on Amazon for $35. I complained today to deaf ears. The bottle was unopened, yet they would not take it back. The referred me to a manaager who was out and I have not yet heard back. The lesson is to check online before buying items from Drake.
