I come here often and something really stuck out to me today. The Man Painting inside the lobby was super kind to us and our dog, a man came in and the painter moved another chair for him to have a seat, he speaks with kindness and all of us in the lobby acknowledged that. He's a hard worker and It was seen. He made our dog feel less anxiety being there at the vet. Thank you pet vet for always taking care of us and everyone else who works for the company. That painter deserves a raise for his hard work.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after being a loyal customer for years, I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that it helps other pet owners. I have been bringing my dog to this clinic since he was about 2 months old, and unfortunately, the quality of service has declined significantly over the years. Prices are outrageous and they should be ashamed of themselves! I The only reason I give them one star (I would have preferred to give zero), is the tech that held my dog is kind and sweet (she's handled my dog before) Went in for a NAIL TRIM for my 17 1/2 year old chihuahua. They added a bunch of things I didn't want to the bill, wouldn't listen to me when I asked to take something off/did not think things were necessary, and the bill was $100 more than what I agreed to. Will not be coming back
Pet Vet Animal Hospital stays true to old school, traditional American values -- this is a place that will smile while completely avoiding accountability & speak in technical lingo to confuse you. They will be intentionally vague about the pick-up time & estimate in an attempt to overcharge. Their front desk, knock-off UC Davis branding look is white & pristine but that's about the only thing that is clean there. After nearly 20 years as a loyal client, I'm deeply disappointed to leave this review. On November 3rd, staff told me my dog was "required by law" to have a yearly exam for any treatment whatsoever (I needed my dog's stitches removed). As someone who works in law, I verified this is completely false--no such California or federal law exists.
