Was referred to this place because I was very concerned about my juvenile chameleons eye. Because it was Saturday, they were over booked and could only squeeze me in for an emergency visit. I did have to pay extra but, honestly it was worth it for the peace of mind that my chameleon was being taken care of. The staff was wonderful, friendly and comforting. Love this place! We have been coming to see Dr. Byrd for many years and zero complaints. We also really love their groomers and staff! It's a wonderful, caring place!
I've been here twice now for 2 of my cats and Dr. Ramirez is really the best there is! She is super informative, very knowledgeable, and obviously cares for the animals that she treats. It was so easy to make an appointment, even during this pandemic, and she made sure to keep us updated on our baby's status. She is very thorough and I trust that she didn't miss a single thing. When it comes to my pets, I am as high maintenance as it gets. This is why I drive from Atascosa County all the way to Northern Oaks - so that my dogs, cats, and birds can get the best veterinary care. We have been visiting Northern Oaks for a few years. I have several pets and they've always received excellent care. The office is clean, the entire staff is caring and patient. They don't let details slip through the cracks. My pets are my family and I am obsessed with their well being. We tried several vets in the past but I never felt like there was a connection until we went to Northern Oaks. When I called for an emergency appointment to have my dog seen due to breathing issues, it was almost 1200 pm on Saturday and the vet and staff didn't want to give me an appointment. The only thing the receptionist cared about was if my dog was a current patient there and when I said No, she immediately answered " we are not taking any appointments today"...I rushed my dog to Blue Pearl Emergency since no other vets near by was open!!
Dr. Ramirez and the rest of the staff took such great care of our Tina Bella. I'm thankful for the outcome and Tina is so happy! She's eating normally now and feels so much better after those bad teeth were removed! Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for the best for your baby. They also have an AMAZING groomer!! :) 10/10 doggie kisses.
Do NOT take your birds here. Vets lacked knowledge of avian care and expressed no concern or compassion regarding situation. Receptionist was unbelievably rude and unhelpful. Received records and saw that receptionist LIED in her notes about what happened. Unbelievable. Worst treatment at a vet clinic and just customer service in general. Spent over $600 for labwork and xrays only to leave crying due to ridiculously rude staff. STAY AWAY!
We have been taking our big dog Ranger there since 2011 when we rescued him. The only time another vet has looked at him is on on emergency when this clinic was closed. We trust Dr Bird. She has never given us bad advice. She has aging dogs and has helped us restore quality of life to our aging big boy.
