Usually I'd let God handle it all but sometimes I feel like things need to be said to help others along the way. This is how my experience with Northern Oaks Vet was today in short. This was all because I needed my puppies 3rd round of shots and they were due today. I called yesterday they got me in next day but said I had to pre pay and pay $75 for a wellness exam to be seen which I totally understand since they had never seen him. I get there and all the front desk how much it would be to have his nails trimmed and his ear... read more

Business response:

We loved seeing your little guy. He did have an ear infection, which we discussed, and we asked to perform an ear cytology to type the infection and choose appropriate medication and to perform an ear flush to start his ears with a clean base for treatment. Once approval was given, these were performed so appropriate medication could be prescribed. You are correct that the veterinarian spent an immense amount of time with you answering questions and that you were worked in last minute in order to assure he got off to a healt... read more

The wife and I are new at this Hospital. Bought our pet her for an allergy injection and because we followed Dr. Juan Diaz here from a different location. We have been with him for many years. Super good VET. I personally put my trust in this Hospital and staff. It is my personal believe that no one at this Hospital would further injure any pet for personal gain. There are circumstances that happen that are just not preventable with our beloved pets.

Business response:

Thank you. Dr. Diaz is awesome!

I have been coming to see Dr Byrd and other vets as well as technicians and staff well over 20 years and have always had the best experience. They care about our furbabies and staff are extremely courteous and explanatory for everything. They provide pros and cons for your situation. We just lost our Jasmine after 11 years which is heartbreaking but I'm thankful to have been able to have such a caring and supportive veterinarian and staff. My jasmine you will always be remembered Your momma Karmen

Do not take your pets to Dr. Byrd. This vet cares more about lining her pockets than the safe treatment of your beloved pets. She placed our dog on a very dangerous (and expensive) medication with severe side effects called Apoquel stating it would treat his allergies. Beware, this is not an allergy medication (Research how bad this medication is- I wish I had before being talked into giving it to my dog). It's an immune system suppressant. Yeah it can stop itching, but of course they will not be itchy if your pet is dead. I... read more

Business response:

We are very sorry for the loss of your pet. While there are many reasons your elderly pet may have passed, the Apoquel is a very safe drug used for it’s labeled indications, including allergy and skin infections. The records indicate your pet was prescribed a short course, exactly as indicated, for the specific reason Apoquel is meant to be administered. Dr. Byrd’s own dog uses Apoquel for her severe allergic condition because of its safety profile. The loss of a beloved family member is incredibly difficult and we certainly... read more

Dr. BYRD is a bad veterinarian. She preformed a cyst removal surgery incorrectly on my dog. In my opinion it was done on purpose to try to get more money from me trying to save the tail from being amputated

Business response:

This is not factual information. The large mass was recommended to have been resected almost a year prior to removal with warning noted in the record that the skin may not be able to be closed because of its large size and location on the tail. Your sweet girl was not actually presented for mass removal until almost a year later, and we again warned we would try to resect making skin flaps, but the surgery may be difficult or potentially have poor results because there would not be much skin available since, by that time, th... read more

Amazing veterinarians, vet techs, front office staff. New patients are treated with patience and care. The decor and waiting room are warm and inviting. The entire office is kept impeccably and immaculately clean. A highly-regarded vet friend recommended this office, specifically mentioning that every vet received their recommendation, and our experience with a spay and nasal resection for our pup did not disappoint. We will be establishing a new patient relationship for our other pets as well after 20+ up-and-down years at ... read more

Horrible experience today. Made an appt last week and show up for my appointment today and they had no record of my appointment in their system. My schedule is extremely busy and to have to drag my two dogs to the vet and then they have no record of my appointment, even though THEY sent me an invoice for my appointment that shows it was scheduled TODAY!!! Are you kidding me?! Morons! And they didn't even try to squeeze me in to accommodate me, they just looked at me like I had three eyeballs and said we only have one Doctor ... read more

Business response:

We’re sorry to learn of this inconvenience. Certainly not something we intended to occur. We are unsure where the miscommunication occurred.

Expensive and will try to sell you on unnecessarily procedures. I took my dog for an allergy shot and they gave him a $170 allergy shot without my permission or letting me know the price. The shot is only designed to last less than a month. This vet is entrainment and will nickel and dime you. They do not practice in good faith. Do not go to this vet! The vet we had didn't even have their education from the United States.

Business response:

We are sorry you did not find your experience with our hospital to be positive. Allergies are treatable, but not cureable, as discussed. Your pet received a unique allergy injection, which is a cytokine inhibitor, to prevent allergic responses. This is a very targeted approach, rather than steroids and the detrimental side effects they cause. These cytokine inhibitor injections last from a month to 6 weeks. No treatment is administered without permission. All of our doctors have graduated from AVMA accredited Universities. W... read more
