Love this vet. My kitty had an issue with eating shoe strings, lint, hair ties, power cords, etc. Eventually we realized what going on but it was too late. Dr. Bird was awesome. After surgery, we got to see what "hoover" ate. Amazing it didn't rip him up from top to bottom. Kitty is a good as new and everything we own now has wire protectors on it and is off the floor. Very nice staff and reasonably priced.
How can you not like a vet named Dr. Bird? We take our two puppies there and the care is great. The people are friendly and highly knowledgeable. So far we have had worms and an eye infection and the staff addressed both problems quickly and with great care. As new dog owners, we often have questions and they have no problems answering them over the phone. We give them two paws up!
I have mixed feelings about this vet hospital - We got a new puppy on Friday.... and it unfortunately became clear within the first 24 hours that she was very ill. We took her to Livermore Veterinary Hospital after the receptionist was kind enough to squeeze us in for an urgent, last minute Saturday appointment. They gave her some fluids since she was dehydrated, some pills for parasites and sent off some tests to an off site lab... The second reviewer got the WRONG veterinarian office! Dr. Bonnington is at the Animal Hospital of Livermore, not the Livermore Veterinary Hospital. I would agree with the second reviewer about that hospital... we had several negative experiences there before switching to this practice where we see Drs. Bird and Bloomfield. The doctors in this practice are phenomenal, caring, FANTASTIC vets. We have been taking our dog Molly here since we got her in 2005. The staff (doctors and techs) are very friendly and caring. Molly does not mind coming to see them at all. She actually gets excited to see the vet and runs through the front door every time. If I had to recommend a vet to someone, it would definitely be this place. Normally we see Dr. Bird, but we have seen the others too and are happy with them as well.
i have been taking my 2 st. Bernard's and my Mastiff here for 3 years and i could be more pleased with the service and the way they treat my babies. they have that down home feel, definitely not a chain place. i have seen all the Dr.'s here and i would recommend any of them. i have had many bad experiences with other vet hospitals, but not here, they pay attention and take the best care of the animals. its not all about the money to them, it is about the animals. i just want to thank them for the years of great care with my ... read more
Dr Bird is great! He's very caring with our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks dogs and very gentle. The other staff vet, Dr. Linda Bloomfield, is great as well. However, I would NOT recommend his colleague Dr. Larry Tischer, who is a little too impatient with our dogs in my honest opinion. The front desk seems used to getting a request for appointments with "anyone but Tischer". At the recommendation of the owner of Pet Food Express in Livermore, I brought my precious baby to Dr. Jerry Bird for her puppy exams and vaccinations. He was so caring, compassionate and thorough in his exam. You could easily tell that he loves animals and this is why he is in the business. The facility is clean, and the pricing is very reasonable, unlike the ridiculous prices they charge at Adobe Animal Hospital down the street.
