EXPLOITING, OVERPRICED & WEIRD! 3 STARS -Because the vet deserves 5 stars, but the business ethics deserves 1 star. To start off the Vet was very nice, compassionate and professional! That being said my girlfriend took our cat, (Gloves: he was all gray with white feet) of 21 years into the office because his liver was failing, he was turning yellowish in the ears, wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink, and started to hide and sleep in the tub.i.e. Google, is a wealth of information, hence where we figured out his liver was failing.... read more

My husband has been coming here for years! When I moved, it quickly became our pets veterinary home. They handle all our animals with such care, (we have a hefty angry feline) and they are always so accommodating. Thank you horizon! You're the only place that has successfully groomed our feisty Fiona!

We have had 6 dogs since we came to Arizona in 1992. We love our animals and when we first went to Horizon Animal Hospital, we knew we had found the quality and personable care we wanted for them. We met Dr. Beth Hareski. She is fabulous, caring, and loving. She doesn't mind getting down with the dog to check them, even if that means getting dirty. Dr Patterson is a wonderful vet! She is an honest lady who is very loving to animals. I feel like Horizon Animal hospital prices are fair and reasonable unlike some vets in Scottsdale. I also like how Dr Patterson will try to treat your pet without having you undergo very expensive tests that aren't necessary. I noticed with past vet clinics (North Scottsdale Animal Hospital) they would want to have my dog undergo a lot of different tests that were very expensive ,,,,so it was a nice to know that there are still honest place... read more

Stay away from this place! We took our 8 week old puppy in for an initial exam and were horrified by Dr. Beth. She was impaired! She just starred at our dog awkwardly for 10 minutes and fed him treats, never examining him. Her eyes were glazed over and she as shaking. Couldn't answer a single question we asked and would not look up at us. She was completely out of it and looked like she had just rolled out of bed. Horizon animal hospital and Dr.Penn saved my vizslas life. We went to multiple vets before and they ran many tests and could not determine what our pup had. Our vizsla ended up having leptospirosis from a doggy day care (we assume), and it has not been found often in Arizona in 20 plus years! Thankfully Dr. Penn ran a test for it based on our pups symptoms and we were shocked that it came back positive, but thankful Dr. Penn was knowledgeable about the symptoms to run the test. We have been going to Horizon for almost a year and to say we are satisfied with the care our pets receive and have received is an understatement. We discovered Horizon through Angie's List and, although they're in Scottsdale and we are in Peoria, they're well worth the trip. We came to Horizon because we had a strong suspicion that our former vet had misdiagnosed our elderly cat's issues, (which was confirmed both by our former out-of-state vet and Horizon,) and that our former vet was more interested in racking up expensiv... read more

I went here 5 years ago vet and staff were so great. I took one of my other cats there recently and sadly he was very sick. I had to put him down. A very nice room to say goodbye to him . My complaint is for the front desk staff. No compassion and no people skills. They need some training. Years ago that front desk staff was top notch. I probably won't be going back with my other fur babies. Or recommend to others.
