Our dog and cat were patients of Highland Park Animal Hospital for approximately 8 years. In all honesty, in those 8 years we were never unhappy with the service or care received there. When we had to put our sweet dog of 15 years down last May, I was especially thankful for Dr. Morse and his very sincere and loving care given to both us, our dog and the situation. I can't speak highly enough of him. We recently discovered that he moved to a new clinic, however, and transferred the care of our cat with him. He was the ONLY ... read more

This is a hard review for me to write. I've waited a month to write it. I brought my 11 year old American mastiff in because she wasn't doing well. They treated her to the best of their abilities and at first I thought we were out of the woods but she was just too old and sick. Dr. Morse was great. When the time came he didn't guilt me into making expensive and wrong decisions about the care and treatment of my dog. I don't have have my Ginger anymore and to quote Red from Shawshank, "Red: [narrating] Sometimes it makes me s... read more
Dr. Morris at the HP Animal Hospital is awesome. He is extremely caring and patient spending additional time explaining procedures. Always have had wonderful experiences at the hospital. Additionally, they have a great grooming practice, Canine Country Club. Can't say enough about the two groups!
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. In general, I think this place is probably fine. But any enterprise should realize when it's giving poor customer service, and work to correct the experience "in-flight." The Associates and Vet at Highland Park had no interest in doing this. They do not use the laser surgery, which from what I understand is the preferred method for de-clawing. My cat has paws that are quite tender and appear to have much healing to do. The scalpel method is NOT as sound as the laser method. SUMMARY: Took my cat to get ... read more
Stay far away! I had the worst experience of my life at this vet! After 9 years as a loyal customer of the clinic I made a huge mistake to board my beloved Lab @ Canine Country Club owned by John Vandermeer. After I picked her up she was in major pain and could not drink water. To my horror I noticed one of her major canine teeth broken in half. I rushed her to H.P.A.C. where my regular vet was off. We were seen by Vandermeer the owner. He sent me home and told me to leave it alone, NO MEDICATION, NO X-RAY. Got home she wa... read more
I can't really say enough about the staff at Highland Park Animal Hospital. I adopted a puppy (Charley the wonder pooch) from the Humane Society and HPAH was one of the listed vets who would give him a free exam. The vet and techs were wonderful and made the little guy less scared and happy to come to the vet. Each time we bring him in, they remember him which makes me feel like they truly care. One time during routine shots, I casually mentioned he was have stomach issues, and they assured me it happens to puppies and if he... read more
I came to this vet for a second opinion for my sick cat. First opinion at another uptown vet was "put her down"...HP Animal Clinic gave her four more *happy* years, at a very reasonable cost (didn't break the bank at all). When it did come to the day to put her down, the staff was EVERYTHING we needed them to be. Now, we have 2 dogs and an elderly cat (shuffling his way off to the Happy Hunting Grounds), and Dr. Ben Morse takes such good care of them. I trust HP Animal Hospital completely. All the doctors are top notch. They... read more
I was referred here by a friend after my disastrous experience with City Vet. I'm so glad I found Highland Park Animal Hospital...they're the best!! I used this Veterinarian until I moved away from Dallas in November 2008. Dr. Morse was always very sweet to my basset hound, and Whitney at the front desk is awesome too! Soon after moving to the west coast, I needed some ear cleanser/medication for my dog. Unfortunately, no vet office here in the bay area would dispense the medication without a prescription. I placed one phone... read more
