I love Highland Park Animal Hospital and Dr. Vandermeer and all the other doctors there. My dog Callie and I have been going here since she came into my life and the level of service is always top notch. The doctors truly love animals and are super gentle with my pup. I never feel they over medicate my dog or suggest services that are unnecessary. They make it easy to get in for an appointment and send email reminders for our next visit. We went to try Highland Park Animal Hospital as it was on the list from the Humane Society for our newly adopted pup. We were brought to an exam room, and could hear every step of an animal being "put to sleep" in the room next door while we were waiting to see the doctor. Having us wait ten minutes in the waiting room might have avoided that sensitive and private (for the other family) and disturbing (for us) event. Not a great first impression. I have a senior cat whose health is beginning to deteriorate. I had been taking her to a local Banfield for the past two years, which in all honesty was just fine for routine care and vaccines. But now that she's older, and after Banfield seriously messed up by failing to provide me with biopsy results in a timely manner (as in, the report was just sitting on a fax machine for several days), I came to HP Animal Hospital on the recommendation of a friend. My puppy had surgery at this hospital in August 2014. I was not satisfied with the service provided at this place. After bringing home my puppy from surgery his bands were poorly dressed, staples were poorly placed, and the dog cone was not of good quality. My poodle puppy was somehow able to rip the tapes, bands and even staples off of himself, all with the cone on. If this hospital is dedicated to dog surgeries I would think they would know better than me as to what to expect behavior wise from a puppy and be ready for it.... read more

In 2009, I adopted a beagle from the Humane Society. I was recommended to the Highland Park Animal Hospital from the shelter and I've taken my dog there ever since. Friendly, helpful staff who care about your animal, no matter how old or young, big or small.

Love this hospital. My family has gone to them for close to twenty years. I especially appreciate the fact their interest is focused on getting my pets well rather than jacking up the tab like so many others clinics in town. I'm looking at you CV.

We live in Allen now, and we don't mind the drive to Highland Park just so our dogs can see Dr. Henry! She is AMAZING! My dogs love her, she is the best vet we have had. I am beyond pleased with the service there, and the prices aren't terrible either. I do board my chihuaha there when we go on vacation and I never have to worry about her. My chihuaha is a little testy with people and Dr. Henry knows exactly how to handle her, and it is much appreciated. I dread having to find a new vet, but we will be sticking with Highland... read more

They are fantastic! I recently adopted a puppy from the Humane Society and was told HPAH would do her surgery as part of my adoption fee. I decided to try it out, and I am thrilled I did. Dr. Henry is amazing. She is very responsive by phone and I have now switched my other dog to HPAH for her care too. Highly recommend!

Our dog Daisy, a stray, has been going to Highland Park Animal Hospital for 17 years. They are like family to us and certainly like family to Daisy who absolutely loves to stay there (we board her there now too since she is too old to go to Canine Country Club). We really value our relationships there, the service in excellent and the quality of care we have received has been consistently excellent!
