RecommendedTonight we had a terrible scare, our mini doxie, Finnegan, bit a very large bufo toad. It was terrible, he immediately started foaming at the mouth. Panic ensued, My daughter rinsed his mouth and We drove to Calusa. We were greeted by Savannah who took him back immediately. Dr. Johnson and Jennifer examined him, checked his vitals and made sure he was stable. Savannah kept us company and reassured us while we waited. My vet diagnosed my dog with diabetes and insisted that I start insulin injections even though she showed no symptoms. in my search for a second opinion, I came across Calusa Vet Center on google. My visit to Calusa exceeded all my expectations. We put the dog on a homemade diet and her sugar stabilized. I can't even begin to imagine what would have happened if I listed to my previous vet. Hi I am from Pa and my pet Teddy the Pomeranian was experiencing difficulty with his ear .Dr Turkell and his staff were wonderful as Teddy is also very anxious and is nervous around new people .Dr Turkell spent a lot of time with me outside discussing Teddy and giving me a very helpful handout on foods to feed him .I wish I had a vet like him back in Pa and would highly recommend this practice to everyone Thank you Sue Tucker

I recently had an issue with my dog, Ally’s eyes. Last weekend she started with puffy eyes and on Monday, I called to make an appointment with Dr. Turkell. While they were quite booked, they fit us in. I pulled up to their curbside service and called them that we were here. They immediately came out to pick her up. About two minutes later, Dr. Turkell called me to find out what was wrong with her. He said he was going to look at her and call me back. Well, he did, within 5 minutes.
