Dr Raichel was a disaster with my dog and I'm not sure if its because she was so inept at diagnosis or just money hungry. I brought my elderly shepherd in with a huge lump around his sinus area thinking he may have an absessed tooth. She agreed and put him on anti biotics for a week before doing the surgery. She said the swelling would go away but to bring him back to have the tooth pulled. When I brought him back, the swelling was bigger and harder and was dripping blood out of his mouth. At that point it was evident thi... read more

I have been bringing my dog here for a few months and she has had a problem that they said they could figure it out with a couple tests. We are now 6 tests later and they still can't figure it out. I have spent tons of money and given my dog a lot of medicine for them to say well let's try this and see what happens. They aren't confident about their treatments and what is happening, they just want to keep testing her. Also, when you schedule an appointment, they aren't ready for you and there is no communication between the ... read more

I went to this office for the first time last week to take my kitten who was losing skin on his chin/lip area. I had to wait for about 30 minutes AFTER my appointment time even though I got there a few minutes before my appointment time. I asked the receptionist if I could have some water for my kittens while we waited and she waved me off and said she would bring me some in a moment. Well, 20 minutes later and nothing. We finally get into a room to see the doctor and she was HORRIBLE. She seemed friendly enough at first, bu... read more

After adopting our puppy, we went to another vet in our area and had a horrible experience. Finding Windansea was such a blessing!! We have been going there for over a year now and love everyone there. I can call anytime and have no issues getting an appointment that works for my schedule. Most recently, our dog was hit by a car (all is good and he is making a full recovery) early in the morning so we went to emergency care. Bye the time we made it home, they were notified of our dogs accident and called to check in every... read more

Took sick in for a visit. I was 15 min late and realized maybe they couldn't see me. The front staff watched me stand there for 5 min while they talked on the phone. They then had me wait another 5 min then checked me in 25 min late. They said they could offer the next appt in 40 min and I could have the cat wait. I said great.. I live close so I went on my way. My cat needed a urine test and a check up. An hour beyond the next appt I was given by them, I called and asked what was going on.I found out they had taken other a... read more

Awesome vet clinic by the sea in La Jolla. Dr. Dorian is wonderful, yet somewhat brief, in appointments. He works at atleast 3 other vet practices in the area so sometimes he can be kind of hard to get ahold of (hence the 4 stars) if you need to ask him a question right away, but he always called back. Dr. Dorian and his staff really have helped me out in emergency situation though. I brought my sheila to him after I had moved here from the east coast. He has also caringly helped me maintain my sheila every 6 months or s... read more

The woman who owns this clinic does not have compassion for people or pets. I have witnessed her lack of compassion on several occasions and cannot understand why she became a vet. I would strongly suggest you go to the Animal Hospital of La Jolla, or La Jolla Veterinary Hospital instead. Previously 5 stars for the Dr Lindsey and Dorian's wonderful bedside manner, practical recommendations for treatment, reduced rates for rescues, taking in strays, offering affordable housecalls for euthanasia, and other actions which sh... read more

I loved that they did a house call for our cat! great friendly staff, and they really showed they cared. Extremely convenient, and pretty fair priced.

My cat, Finny, has issues with vets. Every time I take him, he gets incredibly scared, jumps in a corner, and hisses at everyone. He pretty much just sits in my lap and burrows his head in my arms. According to Governor Animal Clinic, my 9 month old kitten is too aggressive and they basically won't touch him until I spend the $600 to get him declawed. They also recommended filing down his teeth...? Hate them. Personally, I don't think it's very surprising for a cat to get aggressive when he's in a room that smells like d... read more
