While at Lake Anna over the week of July 4th, my Golden doodle's rash had gotten worse. Rather than wait until we got home, I made an appt at Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital. I saw Dr. Emily Coleman and could not have been happier with our experience. She was very caring and knowledgeable. I felt like their prices were fair and was very satisfied with our overall experience.

This is one of the best that we have used in our 27 years of raising and rescuing cats and dogs. Staff is friendly, professional, efficient, and yet it is still a relaxed atmosphere. It is also very clean..... Dr. Slovis is also focused on my pets, and never fails to put his hands on the animal. I don't know why that is important to me but it is. Some doctors can be very friendly but never actually examine the animal thoroughly. They may go by what you tell them. Dr. Slovis listens and respects the owners but will make sur... read more

This is a very high quality practice. Everyone there is well informed and caring of my pets. All state of the art equipment and Dr. Slovis and his Associates are very knowledgeable in all areas. I have 3 dogs and one cat so have used them many times. Any time I call they make every effort to fit me in the same day. I cannot praise them enough. Mary Hoelman

I have been going to the same vet for 35 years and even though I saw Lake Anna Vet Hospital open 4 years ago, which was closer to my house, I have stayed loyal to the vet I had been going to. My 6yr old Boxer became VERY SICK a week before Christmas and couldn't keep any food down AT ALL. Severe abscess, blockage or cancer was the diagnosis after over $600 in tests and take home meds and I was told that her chances of survival were bleak and to think about euthanasia. My family and I really were hoping Roxy could be with us ... read more

My 12 yr old pit had bone cancer. After 3 weeks and 3 appointments with pain killers, X-rays and some sort of red light treatment, they charged me ~$2500. Then they wanted to amputate at almost 13 yrs old! After that they charged me a fortune to put him asleep. The problem is they had to see the cancer on the first X-rays. The next 2 visits were just to get more money out of me.

Dr. Slovis is wonderful. Stay away from his 'associates' in the office. For 3 of my very senior dogs, they'll order EVERY TEST imaginable, and most are unnecessary. One didn't even touch my senior male Chesapeake Bay Retriever and then wrote that his neck was supple and normal. Had she physically examined him, she would have found a tumor that was causing the breathing and swallowing issues. My new vet did, right away! Unfortunately, he was terminal. The anxiety and worry would have been lessened, and the old guy wou... read more

Had a very sick cat on a Wednesday. Called early in the morning to see the vet. They would not see her until 3:45 pm. I begged and pleaded to get an emergency appointment, and was denied. I ended up driving 50 minutes to the Emergency Vet in Fredericksburg. I was very disappointed in the attitude of the staff of Lake Anna Veterinary practice. I am currently looking for a practice with more compassion.

Way too expensive for the location. They are taking advantage of people because there is no other place within 30 minutes of it!

Not impressed with these people. Rude, condescending and overall not nice. They euthanized our dog last year and the vet tech- who had VERY along fingernails- made the dog cry and basically wasn't kind or compassionate. Thought hey maybe they aren't so bad and gave them another chance and again... rude, condescending and just overall not pleasant. I understand times are crazy and people are stressed but I will make a longer drive to work with a nicer vet who is appreciative of the business and kinder to my furry babies. An... read more
