Very pleased with this group of Vets. Staff is excellent and very helpful, especially the Vet techs who can administer the vaccines when the doctors are in surgery or they just have a busy schedule that day. ( so your pet doesn't have to wait to be seen) and only need a Booster shot. Highly recommended.

We are permanent residents at Lake Anna, but don't have an animal. Our adult daughter came for a long weekend for 4th of July with her elderly cat. "Joey" was diagnosed in March with diabetes, and our daughter has been religiously giving him insulin twice a day. Unfortunately, she learned a day earlier that he also has cancer. Way back, in the beginning of Dr. Slovis's practice, we couldn't be more thrilled. He is a top-notch doctor, easy to understand, and straightforward. Several years ago, as his practice grew, the individual kind of attention became lost in a flurry of other veterinarians working there. This was our first time at LKA Vet Hospital. It was easy to get an appointment that was both quick a s worked with my schedule. We brought our new furry baby in for a overall wellness check and rabies vaccine. She had not been eating or drinking for a few days and this is why a quick appointment was necessary to be sure she wasn't dehydrated. I highly recommend Dr. Slovis! Several years ago, 2 local vets couldn't figure out why my cat had a high white blood count. I kept bringing her back, her white blood count continued to rise, they ran more tests, but couldn't come up with a diagnosis. Found Dr. Slovis. After one visit, a scan and I think more bloodwork, it turned out to be an enlarged spleen. Spleen was removed successfully, her white blood count returned to normal. We moved permanently from our home in NOVA to our lake home a couple of years ago, and I loved my vet in NOVA so I was worried about transferring my furbabies. I took a chance because driving north for pet appointments (I had four dogs at the time) was tedious. LKA Veterinary has been great with all of my animals -- both how they interact with them and their medical treatment. Their new facility is beautiful and state of art. I am very happy with my experiences with the LKA Vet.

After a friend recommended him, I started taking my hounds to Dr Slovis for chiropractic adjustments. I started by taking my male show dog to him before leaving for dog shows and that makes a huge difference in how my dog moves at home and in the ring. I then started taking my pups to him for examinations, and now I see him any time one pup in particular has an issue. We can't say enough great things about this practice. We switched from another vet after our dog became aggressive & difficult at the vet. We had used Dr.Slovis before but moved 40 min away and was using a vet that was closer. At age 2 our male dog really became a problem at the vet. He also had an undiagnosed mass in his abdominal area that had been growing a year and a half. Dr. Slovis got us in quickly and worked with us to find the root of the issue. Dr. Slovis and his team did an incredible job for my boy Alex! I called on a Thursday and was unable to get him in until Saturday because of my work. They were booked but worked him into their schedule! I had absolutely zero wait when I arrived. They took us in and were prompt and thorough in his treatment! I would definitely recommend them!
