RecommendedJust want to give a shout out to the staff at Heartland Veterinary Hospital Especially Sammi, and Dr. Hartnagel. They were kind and compassionate, quick and efficient on such short notice, & took extra special care of Ollie Friday when dealing with his irrational veterinary anxiety 😂. Definitely recommend them. He really is the best boy, I promise. lol. ♥️ 🐾
They saved my leopard gecko. He had plugs in his area near his vent and the exotic vet removed them successfully with no issues. He is home and doing really well, I can't thank them all enough. Their pricing was more than reasonable for what they did for my little guy and I'm grateful for that. Everyone here is so kind, especially the receptionist I spoke with and the exotic vet. 11/10 highly recommend. I traveled 2.5 hours to see them since they were the closest exotic and it was worth the trip 10x over.
We’re so thankful to have access to an exotic vet in Edwardsville. Our daughter breeds, raises, and shows guinea pigs. Dr. B has been incredible in regard to the veterinary care of our herd.
Our German Shepherd Bayleigh was seen by Heartland on a few occasions, every single time they explained things and solved our issues, and unfortunately yesterday we had to let her go unexpectedly due to a ruptured tumor the Heartland staff found. The staff was so kind and empathetic even though I know pet loss is something they deal with everyday. I am very thankful for their care and empathy for me and my family, and for our Bayleigh girl. I highly recommend their practice.

The most incredibly thoughtful and caring staff. They truly care for your pet and the families especially when you have to go through the process of saying goodbye to your furry best friend. When I left they gave me Ozzie’s paw print in clay and his nose print in ink. Today I received a card in the mail signed by doctors and staff with thoughtful words written by everyone. I couldn’t thank them enough for making one of the worst days of my life just a little easier. I will be forever grateful for them.
I brought my cat here last week to just to get a second opinion, and wish I would have brought her here first. This vet is better equipped than most to handle cases that are more severe. My cat wound up being terminally ill, and I brought her back today for assistance with ending her suffering. The level of compassion you will receive from the vets and the staff here is unmatched anywhere else I have been.
They took excellent care of our Puddle and Leif. Very sweet, personable, and informational! For exotics (reptiles etc.) we highly recommend Dr. Brunstein.
