I brought my dog to remove a testicle that didn't drop and was right under his skin on 12/15/23. The testicle was visible. Right after I left the veterinarian phoned me to notify me of all the odd blood results implying that my dog had liver and gallbladder problems. She suggested to get more blood test. After they knew that my dog was probably not a good candidate for the procedure they went ahead and put him under anesthesia and began the laparoscopy procedure. A few minutes after she phoned me to tell me his heart stoppe... read more
I truly have been debating leaving this review, but I think it's important for others to know what level of care my cat received while boarding with Care First so that everyone reading this can make an informed decision on whether they board their pets there or not. I had to travel out of state and decided to leave my cat, Kiko, with Care First this past July. He's diabetic, so it's important that he be monitored and given his insulin on a consistent basis. I entrusted him in their care, since I could not find a pet sitter ... read more
My cat went there for a bath. The person who cut her nails cut into her blood line, one of her nails was bleeding and we discover it after we went home. We received feedback message from them the second day and mentioned this, the contact person avoid talking about this problem at all. We just want to kindly warn you that this is a live, please find a skillful person to cut her nails.
I really wanted to like this place being it was recommended by a couple of my neighbors but after my experience I will be blasting them on our Nextdoor instead. I took my dog in for a heartworm prescription because the last vet could not get blood so again vet charged a exam fee $77 , she was having some problems with pain so $100 in meds and I got talked into a unnecessary full blood panel on my perfectly healthy dog additional $200. I paid went home called in the scrip to online pharmacy and went on my way. There was ... read more
I booked for my cat for a shampoo and sanitary cut only. I have been using Care First Tryon for years; until today. I called weeks before to make an appointment. I asked during the appointment if I could write a check and send it with my mom because I would be at work. "That should not be a problem" responded the friendly receptionist. "All we need is your updated rabies vaccination" in which I mentioned it should be with my primary vet in Garner. My primary vet sent over to Care First the required vaccination and medical re... read more
I found this company to not be very honest, deceitful actually. We met them at a dog day festival where they had a tent set up and were pushing FREE baths, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. When we called to make our appointment the first time, they said our dog had to have her rabies vaccine. We got her rabies vaccine. Then we called back to schedule her cleaning appointment...with all of her required vaccines completed. When I arrived at the clinic to get her FREE cleaning, suddenly...before she can get a BATH...she su... read more
Started out just fine, I was able to get my cat in quickly, which I appreciated. I made it clear from the beginning that my 7 year old cat had only been out of the house a couple of times due to his absolute terror of the transport cage and cars. Additionally let them kknow that in general this cat was afraid of everything. Got him loaded up and took him in on Friday. He is congested, the xrays showed some cloudiness on his lungs. They would not give him an antibiotic shot because they had not seen the results of his blood ... read more
