Let me begin by saying that my parents had been coming to this place for years and had consistently received a high quality of service and care for their dogs from the older Indian DVM that had previously been the owner and operator. I just took my chihuahua here to have her teeth cleaned. First time was last year. Initial visit, pre-surgery blood work was not required. Teeth were cleaned and 4 bottom front teeth needed to be removed. Total cost for that visit $248. This visit pre-surgery blood test was required without providing of cost ($200). Teeth cleaning and removing of 1 tooth cost ($649.59), again without any notification of the increase of $266.00. I was also told when I dropped her of, she would need an e-collar after surgery. I was nervous about going to a vet because the last time I went, my sweet cat of 15 years was diagnosed w cancer and I had to put her down. I now have two new cats and was concerned about taking them to the vet because although they're cuddly to me, they get anxious outside the home and don't like the car or their cage. I chose this vet because there were good reviews, but I cannot express enough how fifteen minutes here made me want to run out the door - which I did. Helpful, kind and caring staff. Cool down to earth Vet! Dr. Ballou was super nice and knowledgeable. So happy to have an affordable, knowledgeable local vet on my new area!

This place is great. It's all about the staff. Dr. Ballou breaks the mold of what you might expect from a vet. No white lab coat, no sensible shoes, no in and out. He is on top of his game when it comes to taking care of his patients and spending time to thoroughly explain what's going on with your pet. It's a no frills practice but don't let that fool you. Highly recommended and Dr. Ballou is the best.

You have a choice where you bring your pet, your pet's life depends on it! Dr(?) Ballou killed my dog. Bloomfield Pointe Veterinarian Hospital's incompetence of removing a tumor, completely, lead to more tumors 4 months later. The surgery was the sloppiest surgery I have ever seen, it was like he used a dual butter knife to preform. This establishment is the best I have ever been to with any of my pets , Dr B is a heaven sent vet. He is compassionate and give you the real deal on whats wrong , he has my business forever , I wish every profession had this guys honesty and caring, he has taken care of all 5 of my pets and is super affordable and does not try to do things that don't need to be done he is q no nonsense Dr ,I refer everyone in my family and all my friends , even people I see with pets , don't take my word for it , go in and see for yourself ... read more

Wonderful staff and Doctor. Dr. Ballou is very knowledgable and really cares about your pets. I would recommend this veterinarian to anyone in the Pontiac, MI area!

I do not recommend this place based on their horrible customer service. I called into the office and asked when the best time to bring my dog in for a pregnancy test was. I told the person who answered the phone when my dog was bred and they told me that I could bring her in on Dec 20th for the test. I send my husband into the office and he called me to tell me that the vet didn't even know why she was there. He said the vet walked in and said "why is she here is she sick", when all she was there for was a blood draw. He kin... read more
