I was hesitant to go to them based on the previous review, but I gave them a try. I am going for routine checkups for my cat and they couldn't be nicer and more knowledgeable. They are a local business and have young doctors on staff. I heard they used to have an older doctor who has since retired. I plan to continue using them and would be happy to recommend them.
My mother has been going to this Animal hospital for years with over a dozen animals. She called to have a doggy euthanized and was berated by the receptionist. Which made both my Mom and Daughter cry. We do not take losing an animal lightly in our family and for professionals to treat people with no respect of their feelings is aweful.
As a local vet, I think that Atlantic Highlands Animal Hospital is great. I have been bringing my animals there for years and have had no problems. They are very nice and service is usually quick. However, as the previous reviewer stated, they are not a heavily equiped facility. If I have serious issues, like when my dog got injured in a fight, I bring them to Red Bank Vetrinarian Hospital. We moved into this area a few years ago & chose this vet out of convenience. I am hesitant to give them a bad review because they are nice people and have a pleasant vet-side manner. However, that being said, I think they lack the expertise and technology to deal with complicated issues, especially if your pet has life or death health matters.
