Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic was founded in 2009 by Dr. Tracy McAdoo and Dr. Lynda Case. Their goal in starting Washington Heights was, first and foremost, to provide the best possible care for their patients. They quickly realized that one of the best ways to care for their patients was to also care for the pet owners.

Good work, but VERY VERY expensive. Dental work was literally $700 vs. $350 at Sugarland Pet Hospital. Both places very very impersonal. Washington Heights - I never met the vet. Not a once. Sugarland, he was too busy to care to talk to you because there is SO much work going on there. Still in search of finding a vet that's willing to see his patients and talk to you about the 4 legged one you care about like a child!
Sorry, I wish I could give a better review, as everyone there was very nice (doctors and all support staff). But my most loved family member died last December after they interpreted a very low blood count last August, as normal. Just three months later, he suddenly became very ill. I took him to an emergency vet clinic, bringing with him his bloodwork from Washington Heights. The vet at the emergency clinic were very concerned at those results and asked to repeat just those values, as he seemed very anemic, and they were co... read more
I would not recommend this clinic. Not only did they not warn me about the side effects of the kennel cough vaccine, they denied that it was the vaccine that caused my dog to cough and honk for over two weeks! Now I am afraid that this cough will stay with her forever. My dog was perfectly healthy before they vaccinated her. I blame myself for not researching about it beforehand, but the clinic clearly did not take responsibility for her symptoms especially right after the vaccine.
I recently adopted my first dog and I was not really sure how all of the vet visits were supposed to go. However, that was quickly changed by Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic. I was thoroughly, but quickly, explained how they conduct appointments and the frequency of recurring visits/medicines. They checked my dog out swiftly and sent me on my way, only to surprise me with a very reasonable bill at the end. I have been able to call and ask several new dog mom questions and have gotten more than enough help. They don't wa... read more
Five stars! I took in a stray kitty a while back, and took her to this group for testing, checkup and shots. The vet and vet tech were so nice and helpful, and when I explained the situation (unexpected expense for an unexpected pet), they worked with me to figure out what she needed right away, and what we could schedule for later vistis. Their love and concern for my little kitty was obvious, heart warming, and reassuring. I will definitely be back.
Pretty happy with this veterinary clinic. We adopted a poodle from a rescue facility way up north (WIllowbrook area), and this veterinary facility is so much more central to where we live (EaDo) and they are very clear with how they communicate re my dog's condition. The facilities are also very clean. They're pretty helpful with pet insurance, too, and give me the doctor's notes very quickly, within the week usually. It is very obvious that the whole staff loves animals; there are even posts for missing animals, etc, plus w... read more
The staff is friendly enough and the veterinarians are knowledgeable. the negatives are: 1. They don't examine your pet in the same room. They take the animal to another location in the building. 2. Not particularly fond of the technician. I have 8 cats and one 100 pound dog. The pricing is too high and simple things like trimming nails have to be 'requested'. Paying twenty dollars to check a fecal sample seems a bit over the top. Horse vets charge $29 and this is a eight pound cat! I spent 5 mins with the vet who was in a h... read more
This is by far the best vet clinic EVER. I have 3 dogs who absolutely love going here. It is very clean unlike many of the other clinics I've been to in the past. The Doctors and staff are extremely understanding, and they don't try and nickel and dime you everytime you visit the office. If you aren't able to get an appointment, but your dog is sick - don't fret. You can drop him off at the clinic and when the Doctor's have a free moment they will see your pet - no extra charge! I would not take my pets to any other vet afte... read more
I live fairly close to Washington Heights Vet and was at a point where i wanted to leave my previous Vet. I have 3 cats and one suffers from chronic upper respiratory infections and allergies. Dr McAdoo was kind, gentle, and very understanding of her current condition. My cat warmed up to her right away and both the vet tech and Dr. McAdoo were extremely gentle in handling. The only reason i give 4 stars is there seemed to be several dogs there during Teddy-Bear's exam and a whole conversation got started between them (lots ... read more
