About this business

HealthcareVeterinarians

Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic was founded in 2009 by Dr. Tracy McAdoo and Dr. Lynda Case. Their goal in starting Washington Heights was, first and foremost, to provide the best possible care for their patients. They quickly realized that one of the best ways to care for their patients was to also care for the pet owners.

I've been taking my cats, and took my parents' cats, to WHVC for years -- shortly after Drs. Case and Macadoo opened their practice. These are wonderful vets and take whatever time I seem to need to explain what they're doing, what's going on with one of the cats, what the numbers mean, and what to be aware of. The vet techs all seem to genuinely care about the animals, and the front office staff are friendly and efficient. They all, especially Dr. Case, helped me when a cat I inherited from my parents came down with various... read more

Awesome Vets, Techs, and staff! Very convenient, great mobile app, and easy to get an appointment. I love that I can drop off my pup on the way to work and pick up after. My dog had some issues but the Vet was wonderful and did not order any unnecessary tests - we started with the basic tests and were able to resolve the issue. Their pet meds are very reasonably priced as well. So happy to have found our *forever* vet clinic!

Luv this place very convenient to my house. Dr. Hipkie is awesome she makes you feel like you can ask her any questions. I've taken my puppy there since he was 12 weeks old and we've been going there at least every 3 to 4 weeks. Easy to make an appointment and there is no long wait. Receptionist are very nice. The place is cute and very clean. Fynn actually wags his tail going to his vet!

Took my new dog there for his first appointment and had a great experience!! We were seen very quickly and Dr Case was great. Trump is a happy customer and will go back for his future vet needs. He is even looking forward to it.

I absolutely love this place! Fortunately I don't have to go that often.... because our dogs are healthy, thanks to Washington Heights Vets. When we do go for semi annuals and annual appointments, we are greeted with friendly receptionists that know us and our dogs by name. We usually see the lovely Dr Pilgrim as she's been there since our dogs were tiny pups but had just had to get emergency appointment and saw Dr O'Malley who was awesome! Both very thorough, personable and knowledgeable. Cannot praise Washington heights ve... read more

Is it ethical to have a vet tech ASSISTANT do the EXPENSIVE teeth cleaning on my poor pup? I understand having the VTA's assist with procedures. I understand having them walk the dogs, clean kennels, and assist especially with large breed animals. But to perform the procedure themselves? I thought I was paying a licensed vet to handle this activity. And then he bragged/complained about it? I was at Panda Express, worrying about my baby, and there was Lewis (he answered his phone while telling his story to a roundish wom... read more

Good work, but VERY VERY expensive. Dental work was literally $700 vs. $350 at Sugarland Pet Hospital. Both places very very impersonal. Washington Heights - I never met the vet. Not a once. Sugarland, he was too busy to care to talk to you because there is SO much work going on there. Still in search of finding a vet that's willing to see his patients and talk to you about the 4 legged one you care about like a child!

Sorry, I wish I could give a better review, as everyone there was very nice (doctors and all support staff). But my most loved family member died last December after they interpreted a very low blood count last August, as normal. Just three months later, he suddenly became very ill. I took him to an emergency vet clinic, bringing with him his bloodwork from Washington Heights. The vet at the emergency clinic were very concerned at those results and asked to repeat just those values, as he seemed very anemic, and they were co... read more

I would not recommend this clinic. Not only did they not warn me about the side effects of the kennel cough vaccine, they denied that it was the vaccine that caused my dog to cough and honk for over two weeks! Now I am afraid that this cough will stay with her forever. My dog was perfectly healthy before they vaccinated her. I blame myself for not researching about it beforehand, but the clinic clearly did not take responsibility for her symptoms especially right after the vaccine.
