Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic was founded in 2009 by Dr. Tracy McAdoo and Dr. Lynda Case. Their goal in starting Washington Heights was, first and foremost, to provide the best possible care for their patients. They quickly realized that one of the best ways to care for their patients was to also care for the pet owners.

I wrote a review about my personal experience with scheduling an appointment. I made the mistake and arrived on the wrong day. That was my fault. It took a response from the manager to get me to see my error. However, while I was waiting to be seen, I couldn't help but hear the staff openly talking about a customer who arrived late for their appointment. I understand that a healthcare office with medical staff have to keep a schedule, but to openly talk about the customer, after they've left, and around other prospective cus... read more
Highly recommend WHVC and Dr Tracy McAdoo, best vet I've found in Houston. Always prompt with appointments times, and they take excellent care of my pup
If your dog has diabetes do NOT use this vet!! My Charlie was a patient of theirs a few years back and we had a horrible experience. A friend recently experienced the same which has prompted me to finally write this review. They diagnosed Charlie with diabetes and started him on a very low dose of insulin. I am also a type 1 diabetic of 25 plus years so I understand diabetes better than most. I declined their recommendation of Walmart insulin and elected to put Charlie on Lantus because I know it's way better, although more ... read more
Word of warning - be sure to scrutinize your bill carefully and question any charges you feel are excessive (or you cannot afford) while you are in the office. Do not wait until you leave or you will have no recourse whatsoever. They would rather lose you as a customer, rather than refund your money for unopened and unused medications., or even offer to discount it. I have been taking my 3 dogs to Washington Heights Veterinary Clinic for the past year. Until last night, I have been very pleased - the Vet staff is wonderf... read more
Unfortunately Washington Heights has "let us fall throw the cracks" as Stephanie one of the Managers admitted. Stephanie also relayed to my mother that in 10 years we are the first people to "have a problem" with being misquoted almost $800 worth of services. According to Stephanie, Nominique, Dr. McAdoo, Dr. Case, and Dr. Hipke it is not the responsibility of the doctor performing surgery on your pet to give you accurate information regarding invoice total. According to the people mentioned above, nobody has the ability to ... read more
Dr. McAdoo is a god send! I took my dog in for the first time at this clinic after a day of him being sick and the staff worked to get me in last minute. I didn't feel rushed while talking to the the vet tech like I have at other places. The vet tech went over all the possible paths of treatments and gave me both low end & high end prices so I wouldn't be caught off guard. The office is super cute and the staff were all very friendly and adored my dog. I had to leave my little guy behind so they could run some tests on him. ... read more
This places customer service is atrocious. I called in asking for some pricing for a service. They put me on hold 5 times and I waiting over 12 minutes. In the end she told me they couldn't perform the procedure on my dog and I needed to go to an emergency clinic. NEVER GAVE ME THE PRICING which is what I asked for and something every other vet I called could do within seconds of me asking. Very amateur and I wouldn't trust my bearded dragon to them either.
Very welcoming to new clients, they had all our paperwork ready and reviewed, and a sign with my dogs name to welcome us. The front staff and technicians were very kind and thorough with questions. The office is clean and inviting. I have a senior dog and they were open about all treatments and the costs associated. Our vet was very sweet and patient as well. Overall loved our visit, we will be back!
My poor baby has been sick and I made an appt this morning and they were able to get me in first thing. I had ZERO wait when I arrived and I was even a few minutes late. The entire staff was so friendly and informative every step of the way. They made sure to answer any questions I had, explain everything, and kept me aware of all costs before hand so I was not blind sided. An exam, 2 blood tests, 2 shots, & 3 prescriptions later and cost less than $500. It was worth every penny and more. My girl was well taken care for. Dr.... read more
