In all honesty I found Dr. Wood to be a very good and caring veterinarian. The problem with Torrey Highlands pet health clinic is his wife and office manager, unfortunately I shared with her the negative experiences I've been having with local veterinarian clinics and I was very honest with her. two days later I received an email with my pets medical record. I have been taking our dogs to see Dr. Wood and team since they opened in our neighborhood. I have owned dogs for many years and never received care like we do at Torrey Highlands Pet Health Care. After every visit, Dr Wood himself calls to check and see how our dog is doing and answer any questions. I called to make an appointment with one of their vets who has cared for my cat for 15+ years at various different clinics. I was told I could not get an appointment because they were not accepting new patients if my cat had been cared for by this vet at a previous clinic. I have never heard if such an absurd policy. So much for continuity of care, right? The female receptionist (clinic manager?) can best be described as as dismissive and rude; she clearly wanted to get me off the phone. I found Dr. Wood and his staff to be very caring and knowledgeable. I came here because I wanted my cat to have excellent care and I haven't been disappointed. They even helped me file my pet insurance claim. I definitely will be back.

I can't express enough how wonderful THPHCC is! We were very freaked out about our dog's acute health issues, and not only were they able to accommodate us and fit us in sooner, but they did a complete work up and set up an excellent treatment plan immediately, and at a reasonable cost. We've now been with THPHCC for over 2 years and continue to be blown away by their attention to detail and compassion for both the pets they take care of, as well as their owners. Jenna is a welcoming presence when you walk in, and has made such a dedicated effort to get to know our entire family-both canine and human! Dr. Wood's attention to detail is second to none, and always takes extra effort to follow up and check in on our dog after she's had a procedure to see how she's doing. I was in an urgent situation with my dog's vaccines, and THPHCC really came through and worked with me, without any judgement of how I ended up in the situation. Very clean, and staff is friendly!

THPHCC really saved my fur baby! My dog has this weird, severe allergic reaction to certain shampoo products and her latest grooming session made her break out in rashes/scabs all over her body. They were able to squeeze me in same day since my normal vet was booked for weeks and they went above and beyond in treating her like one of their own.
