I have been coming here for about 6 months now and so far I have had all great experiences with the hospital and doctors. Everyone is very knowledgeable and extremely nice and helpful. I had both my older dogs (age 9 and age 14) put under to get their teeth cleaned just recently and they came out great! Also, at different times, both my dogs had infections (one in the mouth and one in the liver) and the doctors gave them medicine that worked to heal their infections. I took my dog Lizzie to Metrovet because I was worried she had a UTI. It was a Sunday afternoon and I figured I would have to take her to the Emergency Vet, but luckily I remembered that Metrovet was open. I called and the receptionist was very kind, she scheduled the appointment for later that evening. The vets office was very clean, the staff extremely friendly and the vets were very knowledgeable. I'm very happy to have a new vet 2 blocks from my house with such fantastic hours. It's a very spacious office with super friendly gracious staff. The only drawback I foresee is that it seems to cater to a greater number of dogs than cats. I was the only cat in the waiting area. They have an area in the waiting room that it for us kitty parents, but I didn't realize that until I was about to leave. When we became new pet parents, we weren't sure when to take our Brutus, our rescued Boston Terrier, for his regular care. We searched yelp and decided to take a chance with MetroVet because of all the great reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and the office was clean and comfortable--none of that scary bleach and ammonia smell. The vet June Lefave was great! As a professional dog trainer I have worked with many, many vets over the past 16 years. Hands down Dr. Jacobs and her staff are above and beyond the most comprehensive and compassionate I have yet to encounter. I have switched all of my dogs over to Metropolitan Vet and refer our clients there as well. I trust the doctors and staff with anything and everything that has to do with our dogs. Absolutely love Dr. LaFave! She saved my cat Chainsaw when we didn't think he had a chance! The office is well organized, and the staff are extremely courteous! Seriously I couldn't ask for anything more in a vet's office! Oh, MOST IMPORTANT about the wait time, They are always on time! Love the office and I recommend it to everyone!!

Shy Lucia broke her leg playing in our breeders backyard 3 weeks ago. It was plated and she was healing really well until I decided to go to a more convenient vet in Chicago (Metropolitan Vet Center) instead of my trusted vet out in the country (Animal Hospital of Gurnee). The vet at Metro gave her a huge wrap, which covered her toes... And also charge $140 for it (included a mandatory "checkup"). I have done lots of search to find a reputable vet for my new puppy. I'm so glad to find Metropolitan veterinary center. All staff members are very friendly and kind. Dr.Lafave took a good care of the puppy and provided with all information I needed. Most importantly, they really looked like pet lovers and that is important part. I would recommend this for anyone.
