I found Metropolitan Veterinary Center through Yelp. I noticed that they had a 5 star rating and immediately read the reviews. After going through multiple vets and animal hospitals, I finally found the one! I soon realized, first hand, why MVC had such a great rating. I took my cat Muse here after feeling like she was being misdiagnosed at another vet. We recently adopted a rescue dog from Anti-Cruelty and needed a new vet in the south loop area. We had used another vet for years by Dearborn Park for a dog we rescued when we lived in DP. MVC is a few blocks from our current home in the Prairie Historical District so we checked them out. We had very positive word of mouth recommendations from neighbors. All of the staff is great, from the people at the desk, the techs and the vets. We love the extended hours, especially on weekends.

After getting our first family dog a few years ago, we were struggling to find a vet that was reasonably priced, friendly, and convenient. We hit the jackpot when we stumbled across Metro Vet. We now have two dogs and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. #1 - There is accessible and free parking, which can at times be a hassle in the south loop. #2 - There hours at 7am to 10pm.... Metropolitan Veterinary Center is great! We just got our two dogs in the past few months and this place is really close so we decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed. Dr. LaFave and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable and give great bedside manner to our puppies. The facility is great too. It's spacious, clean and has separate waiting areas for cats and dogs. I highly recommend Metropolitan Veterinary Center.

Online appts are not accurate. Made an appt online for a sick visit- moved my schedule around for it. Got a call the next day that there was an online error and they could not accommodate me. the lady was nice but not helpful. I asked, since this was an error on their end, could they accommodate me- they said no. I work in healthcare and if we make an error in scheduling, we do everything we can to get that pt seen since we know what families do to have time to come in. Went in for an ear and lip checkup for my dog. Was schooled and labeled by the tech as an irresponsible owner repeatedly simply because I refused to allow her to neuter my 11 yo dog, who has no medical problem with prostate or behavior issues. Before she realized my dog was intact, she actually praised how good health my dog is as a senior. She then refused to make an appointment to check the lump on my dog's lip.

Metro Vet is the best! I no longer live in South Loop but I will drive here because they take such good care of my dogs. The techs, front desk staff and doctors are all amazing.

They were the vets for our dog Bowery when we lived in Chicago and they have been hard to top. They were always super thorough and kind to Bowery, always treating him with care and love. We still have to this day the EMERGENCY manual and kit we got from their ER class.
