Ive been meaning to write this review for awhile. Long story short they misdiagnosed my cat with diabetes and told me not to test his blood levels at home(which is super dangerous, you should test at home). Because of this I was giving him insulin which dropped his levels so low he almost died after a week. Nothing but good things to say about this vet office. Usually we got to the suburbs because we lived there and knew the vet/office but decided to come here due to good reviews and because it is steps from home. Found my pup had lymphoma and unfortunately he went downhill quick. I made the most difficult decision of my life and decided to put him down...he was beginning to suffer and struggle. Everyone from the front desk, assistants and Vets are all very nice and you can tell they are animal people. I brought my dog Daisy in for a checkup and a teeth cleaning. I showed the vet a skin tag I was a little concerned about and she offered to remove it at no extra charge since Daisy would be sedated while getting her teeth cleaned. I'll be coming back!
Why I'm not giving 5 stars is every time I call to schedule an appointment, they can never seem to find my dog Rocky even though we've been going here for practically 2 years and have spent $$$ from everything from ear infections to yearly shots. The doctors are very friendly and knowledgeable and the staff seems nice enough. They make it really easily to get an appointment last minute for someone like me who's a hypochondriac about her dog's health. This is the best Vet Clinic we have been to and we have been to several over the years with many special needs pets. They are thorough, very nice and really try hard to be fair with pricing. They will refer you immediately to somewhere else if your pet's injury is beyond their scope (torn ACL) without running a bunch of test and charging you for what they knew when you walked in the door. Everything about this place is excellent, from the people who answer the phone to the employees at the front desk, the techs and the doctors. Nothing short of genuine, professional, exceptional care for my pets. I love this place. The customer service is great, the doctors care about your fur babies, the follow-up is appreciated and they actually care more about the dog than the money. They remember you and your fur baby and they are really good with recommending alternatives if you are cash strapped. Dr Jacobs is amazing.
Let me start out by saying that I am extremely particular about anyone that treats, grooms, or provides any services for my 13 year old poodle Bella. have been taking Bella to MVC for approximately 5+ years. At that time it was only Dr. LaFave and Dr. Jacobs who I cannot say enough about. They are truly caring, compassionate and gentle with Bella who is petrified of going to the vet.
